So gorgeous, can't believe I had never gone sooner. Lovely architecture, excellent orchestra and the company for the ballet we saw were so talented. We got there too close to curtain call so got escorted in and I think had better seats than we paid for. Went with a friend who had a student discount, but for parents I think they have shows for kids/schools. DEFINITELY going again, really charming evening.

The Opera by itself is really amazing and pretty and I'm pretty sure you get a good view whatever your seat because of the way it's build. The only con I have is that I thought I was going to see an opera and it was a ballet.

The Stockholm Opera (Operan) was opened in 1892 and is in the classical European style of its counterparts in Vienna, Paris and St Petersburg (though a little less grand than these). It is well worth seeing and if you can't join a tour then purchase a ticket for a daytime performance of opera or ballet for students. The tickets are inexpensive, there are plenty of seating choices and the artists are first string.

Great performance. We got cheap tickets as we sat on gallery. It was not sold out performance so we had plenty seats to choose from and we saw perfectly. To go to golden foie was amazing and I highly recommend not to miss that opportunity.

An unqualified delight in a traditional Grand Opera House. The standing ovation at the conclusion was in itself an experience and so well deserved

The building is stunning and do check out the wonderful art on the stairways. The ballet and orchestra were excellent! So glad I was able to go!

World-class opera and ballet - good singers, amazing dancers, interior and ambience are more fun than awe-inspiring, since it was built (with lots of pomp) at the end of the XIX century (so less inspiring and more gaudy than older theaters). I saw Don Giovanni, Raymonda, Bill, Dialogues of the Karmelites and Madam Butterfly - and all were very well done. The only gripe is the complete lack of even an option for English subtitles (you know, put another 2-line screen up or use some more modern individual-targeting technologies) - there were many Americans, Brits, Russians, and other non-Swedes at every performance - making it accessible wouldn't hurt :)

Not only the performances are world class, the building is magnificent. Have drink in the interception and have a fantastic view out of the royal castle.

Oh I always longt to the Opera House in Stockholm! So many fantastic performances I have experienced there! The building is in itself magnificent and when all patrons arrive dressed for the occasion, the magic sets in and you are transported through time and space! Wonderful!

Really nice building if you are interested of architecture and opera. Takes you back to 17-century atmosphere. Worth while to visit it, outside or inside the building.

Check the Opera´s resting cafe in between the acts. Golden chandelier with thousand of crystals, silky cushioned chairs and great wine - you do not want to miss this. And for you who is not tired of reading review yet - did you know that the floor of the stage is inclined about 4cm? It is an old way of creating the illusion of 3D effect - it takes weeks for guest dancers to get accustomed to this new surface to dance on. Hats off!

No tours or shows on, so didn't manage to see inside..Good location for a theatre and fine old building.

If you're an opera or music enthusiast, definitely check this out! Check their website to see when guided tours are, they are 120SEK. No one checked my ticket so I felt a bit weird, it would have made me feel better if it had been checked. Our guide had been with the ballet company since the age of 10, dancing professionally for 25 years, so he knew everything there was to know about the opera house. We got to go in two different levels of seating, then to the actual royal "hang out" place, where the royalty would entertain guests. We got to go in the royal box too to see the awful view.

The Opera house is a beautiful building, like all Opera houses, but the one-hour tour brings it to life as the guide tells story after story leading you through the gilded rooms and dark corridors.

If u have more days, then Opera is a good place to visit! The building itself is magnificent! we saw modern Don Juan - not my style....I would prefer a classical piece, but still interesting!
