Visiting World Astrid is a journey into the cozy past. This is a rest and entertainment for both children and adults. Kids certainly will be interested in performances and the opportunity to chat with their favourite book characters. And for adults - an opportunity to see how the world was when our grandmothers were young. The park contains plenty of nice places to eat, play, buy souvenirs etc. It's better to spent there tw days.

Regardless of how old are you - visit this place! You will fall back to childhood, and your children won't want to leave this place, where so many tales become real in this friendly museum. Great place to visit with children. A bit expensive, though, in my opinion.

A place where children can experience the real stories in all of Astrid Lindgren's books. I went there on summer and everything was just perfect, esp weather. There are different performance stages and no schedule informed to keep kids decide where they want to go and what they want to see.

We went there as adults and at the beginning we were a bit embarrassed as we were the only people without children. But it was worth it. The park is built with so much love and attention to detail and we saw all our childhood heroes and their world.

We had a really hard time persuading our children to come home with us. They had such a great time and would probably like to settle and live in "Mattisborgan" or "Katthult". The park is a wonderful place that puts you and your kids in the amazing world of Astrid Lindgren's enchanting stories. Two days is a must and the cabins at the park's camp site are recommendable.

Best theme park we have ever been to. People dressed up in costumes interacting with visitors. Although we couldn't Swedish they spoke to us in Englih. Lots of slapstick comedy for us to follow. No big rides just natural play. Never mind the children we were loving it too,Vimerby it self is a relaxing little town with pretty walks and play parks. In the town center is a lovely play area which Childen seem to get on and play.

For fans of Astrid Lindgren's fairytales a trip to Vimmerby is a must. The park is very well organized and clean. The sets are just like you would expect them to be. The fact that children (and adults for that matter) can interact with the characters in their 'authentic' settings made our visit a dream come true for our daughters. The food is very good and seems to be made to order. The actors are convincing and fill their roles perfectly. All in all a must for all fans of Pippi and the many other stories of Astrid Lindgren.

Astrid Lindgrens world was a great experience for the whole family. I would not recommend this place for children over 9 years old. This is for the younger crowd. My children spent a full day watching Pippi Longstocking, Emil, Ronja etc. A great place to trigger the imagination of the small ones.I would definitely recommend families with small children to go there.

This is a must for children, but if your kids don't speak Swedish they won't get nearly as much out of the theater shows. Still there is lots to play with - a giant house where you feel like a miniature person, or tiny child-size houses. There are things to climb, slides, swings and so on, animals to pet, and actors to meet and interact with spontaneously. The park is not over-commercialized at all, and the nicknacks, and sweets and ice cream aren't peddled in an aggressive manner. There is space just to play and relax, you can bring your own food, or eat in one of the very nice restaurants.People who have stayed at the park's own cabins say that the value is very poor. We rented elsewhere based on that, and found that local cabins can offer some very good value. This is a place for imagination and play. There is a lot to see. Get to the theater performances well ahead of time - 30 minutes at least. Follow the park's advice - don't wear your kids out trying to tick all the boxes. The experience is magic enough if you just see whatever you happen to see.

I love this place, it is well done and well managed. The negatives: the food, I might be a food snob but in the three visits we have gone, we have had simply bad food... Not even the expensive restaurant was any good. The shows seem to overlap, so we have to rush and that is just not fun with kids. None of the shows have any sort of shading which makes sitting there hard to deal with on sunny days. The pros: everything else... Also... The shows are fun for the kids, the way the actors take time with kids -specially- those with needs, I think is great!

Our youngest (6 years) very fond of the pippi show, while our older kids over 10 were a bit bored. Lots to see, not so much to do.

Books by Astrid Lindgren belong to my most influential memories from childhood. Nowadays I read them to my own child. A lot of people have said good things about this place so I had to see it. It didn't disappoint us. Next time we will spend there two days instead of one because there's so much to see. There's a lot to see and experience. I think it would be interesting for children in different ages. Our three years old daughter found a lot to to do but perhaps she will enjoy the place even more when she's a bit older and knows the stories better. The atmosphere is open for all kids. I liked their brochure that advised parents to let children decide the rhythm and order of the day. I'm a wheelchair user. Accessibility could have been better but I could also see that great effort for it had been made. Some hills were very steep. There were some quite high thresholds. Without assistance I would have missed a lot. Assistant got a free ticket even if I didn't have a Swedish or any other certificate about my need of assistance (we don't have such card in Finland). The only disappointment for me and my company was the food. I'm a vegetarian and found it difficult to find anything to eat. Also the others complained about the quality of food. It might be a wise idea to bring your own food, there are places reserved for eating them. I warmly recommend this attraction! Also the little old town of Vimmerby is lovely and worth visiting.

If you are a fan if Pippi Longstocking you need to visit this place. Different houses are on display and there are frequent shows. My three year old daughter got to hug Pippi and this was magical for her.

If you have high expectations you'll probably not leave unsatisfied. There is so much to discover and experience here. The intense use of theater and performances, not just exhibits, make the park come alive and the kids to go ballistic. It must be like being inside the books for them :). And a big plus for the food. The park have gotten away with junk food altogether and only serve good healthy meals worthy of our lovely kids!

ALV is a nice theme park based on all of Astrid's great stories. What is most special is that there are so many actors there and they create great plays. The sets are fantastic! Nicer restaurants than in other theme parks and better souvenirers.
