We visited Killary Sheep Farm as part of Extreme Ireland's 2 day Connemara Tour. Farmer Tom and Roy were fantastic hosts, and we loved seeing the sheep herding, walking to the bog, the views, and even trying to cut the bog! Due to timing, we were fortunate to visit 2 days in a row with Extreme Ireland, after our overnight in Clifden, and it was just as great the second time in 24 hours. Can't recommend enough!

This place was nothing short of incredible! Tom was extremely kind and helpful and happy to talk about pretty much anything. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and its history. The dogs were amazing and the sheep were too. 5 stars, I definitely recommend it. Great experience :)

Extreme Irish Tours stopped at the Killary Sheep Farm during the Connemara day tour and it was an memorable treat. The Killary Sheep Farm gives you an authentic experience of the Irish countryside/farming. It was special to see this landscape and the farm is located up the hill from the water - great for pictures. Farmer Tom was a great guide for the afternoon.

When you think of a trip to Ireland, visiting a sheep farm may not be on your list of experiences, but it should be! Tom and his dog Roy put on quite a show in rounding up sheep scattered across the landscape. After watching how they work, hike up to experience a true Irish peat bog and learn what goes into creating fuel in a land with few trees. We loved it!

Killary Sheep Farm was one of the best highlights of our 14 day visit to beautiful Ireland. Our group of 6 all agreed this is what we wanted to experience in Ireland. Beautiful land and seeing Tom's dog Roy herding in the sheep was amazing. The 10 euro fee is more than worth the the adventure. While traveling in Ireland I would highly recommend making an effort to visit this amazing part of the Connemara region. We even got to dig peat from his bog!! So much fun. Tom and his farm is a hidden gem and I hope more people will be able to visit.

Spending time with Tom, Roy and the sheep at Killary Sheep Farm was a definite highlight of our Ireland trip! Very impressive to see the continuation of Tom's 4th generation working farm and incredibly beautiful land. Tom's quiet guidance of Roy's herding skills was amazing! We enjoyed learning about caring for the sheep, the bog, and the herding/working dogs. So glad we stopped to see authentic Ireland being preserved.

Besides the breathtaking scenery of the Connemara district, Tom, his dogs and the sheep are a wonder to behold. I traveled 1,450 miles around Ireland and this was my favorite spot and activity. You will see a herding demonstration with his clever dogs, shearing of a sheep and a walk up to the bog to harvest peat. The best part was feeding the lambs with baby bottles. I just love this place!

I found this visit very interesting, informative and relaxing in the lovely Connemara countryside. Tom is very friendly and it's not mass tourism, very informal. I'd definitely recommend it. I brought a small walking group and it was very much enjoyed by alltoni

This is a working sheep farm where you can spend an hour or two learning about how sheep farms work, and being very close to the animals. It is amazing to see the sheep dogs at work, and to speak with the owner, Tom. Highly recommended - even in the rain!

Visiting Tom on his sheep farm was an amazing experience! His dogs are wonderful and so clever, his way with the animals and his knowledge impressed us all. Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits! He was well prepared with wellington boots and huge raincoats to cover you fron head to foot! The lambs were gorgeous! Do not miss it!!

Our family of 5 visited Killary Sheep Farm and the kids (teens & early 20's) said this was their favorite part of their month long trip to Ireland!! We loved watching Roy & Sweep and learned a lot about a working sheep farm. The views are also spectacular. Highly recommended!!!!

Mr. Tom Nee was friendly and knowledgeable. The sheepdogs Roy and Sweep were the stars of the show - very agile and affectionate. Watching them rounding up the sheep was both cute and amazing. It was also fun to watch my husband try his hand at working on the bog. The walk on the mountain, sheep shearing, and feeding the lambs were also very memorable experiences! Highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Ireland!
