killykeen forest park

Killykeen Forest Park is a very beautiful and tranquil place, and one that seems to be rarely visited. My wife and I went there on a fine day in mid summer and walked along one of the many woodland trails. Ours was the only car in the car park and we saw only two other people there. The absence of other people allowed us to enjoy the park almost as a private treat. The only sound was birdsong and we spent a pleasant time contemplating the beautiful views as the birds sang.Killykeen Forest Park is a hidden gem. I recommend it to anyone visiting Cavan, especially on a sunny summer's day.

Lovely peaceful place to walk...but the one building I saw was a big let down, it was run down and weeds growing everywhere, lights falling down and the drive way up could be resurfaced, very rough. But as I said walks and views fantastic over lakes :)
