Definately a place to visit in your stay in Bordeaux. The Miroir d'Eau is a reflection of the city of Bordeaux. On a clear spring or summer day, you can see the reflection of the Bourse and other buildings in Bordeaux on the "miroir". It's basically a little water a few cms high on a flat surface overlooking the Garonne river. In the spring and summer, children and people go there to splash about in the water, and you see the french people really enjoying the summer, without having to leave the city!

A beautiful effect created by the mirror at place de la Bourse! Children love running through the mist effect and the cooling haze is so refreshing during the summer. The evening at dusk is when the mirror is at it's most magical moment. The backdrop of the buildings reflected in the still water beside the river make for fantastic photos. The city of Bordeaux really is full of surprises and this is one of them. Enjoy!

Our friends showed us this interesting place. We removed our sandals and paddled in the mirror like water on the pavement. As we started to play around the water drained away and mist was released from the jets. I gapped my camera and took some pictures of people walking through the mist and disappearing into nothingness. I understand it works all year round.

The square is particularly beautiful at night and it is easier to take a good photo then as the traffic quitens and there are significantly less people around.

We were here early November on a cool day but I could see this would be a big hit with kids [of all ages] during the hotter months. I will be back here to splash through the huge 1-inch deep fountain, as the Water Mirror is a must to visit [and play in if possible]. The location between the square and the river only adds to its beauty.

I think this is just splendid. I happened to be there for a photo shoot one morning as the mist was rising from the water. I kept going back at various times of the day - early morning, early evening, late night - never disappoints.

The Miroir d'eau (Water Mirror) or Miroir des Quais (Quay Mirror) in Bordeaux is the World's largest[1] reflecting pool, covering 3,450 square metres (37,100 sq ft). Located on the quay of the Garonne in front of the Place de la Bourse, it was built in 2006.[2]It is made of granite slabs covered by 2 cm of water. In summer, a system allows it to create fog every 15 minutes.[3]

It is recommended to come here in the early morning in beautiful dawn and good weather. There will be water mist in the water mirror, perfect moment to enjoy

unfortunately, after lots of excitement of seeing this, the water was not there. Due to it being December, I think the water is turned off in case of freezing etc, as all of the fountains in Bordeaux were also not working. So just a warning that in the winter, this may not be possible to see! However, the setting was beautiful, and even without the mirror it was wonderful. I will definitely be returning to Bordeaux to see this in the summer.

The Miroir d'Eau on the riverfront in Bordeaux is very impressive. First during the day for most of the year, vistors are regaled by a cycle of water and mist right in front of the Place de la Bourse. This seamless flat body of water between the river and the square is so beautiful. Especially on a warm day where you will see children, families and visitors alike cooling off at this flat fountain. The not to be missed part of this attraction is at night. To stand next to it and look toward the lighted facade of the Place de La Bourse provides a perfect reflection of Bordeaux's splendid heritage. Enjoy!!

Take a break here on the quais from walking around this beautiful city.On the bank of the river Gironde and over looked by the magnificent Bourse buildings.

This is such a clever idea - a shallow mirror of water, reflecting Place de la Bourse and its beautiful buildings and fountain. Even on a cloudy day, when you think the reflection isn't so good, take a photograph and you will find that it looks much better than reality! It's lovely during the day and even lovelier at night.

This is a "must see" in Bordeaux. The shallow water reflects the buildings on Place de la Bourse (Place Royal). You have the illusion of walking on water. It is the perfect place to cool off on a warm day, and you will often see children and adults wading. I will not tell you how the water is refreshed...that would require a "spoiler alert"...so do not rush off until you see what happens!

I couldn't see the fountains of Miroir d'Eau at this time, but in july/2013 I've also spent some days in Bordeaux for business and the show is very nice. Fog, rain, "flood", kids get crazy about it!!!
