We have watched this place recover from almost a ruin, rebuild, renovate and finally open its doors. Such a fantastic building, it's great that it is now being seen and enjoyed by young and old.

Great day out for adults and children, -old fashioned games etc, etc in a beautiful Chateau. The French owners have rescued this ruin and are returning it to its former glory and importantly involving and encouraging local people and further afield to join in!

What a wonderful place to spend a few hours loving a typically French restored chateau. We had passed this totally derelict building and grounds about 5 years ago, and had wondered about its former glory, and now thanks to the new enterprising owners you can get a taste of what could have gone on within its walls. Great Medieval games throughout the castle, and the grounds. Even though it was high Summer there was enough to do that the kids were not waiting for hours.Highly recommended!

Visiting French chateaux is interesting experience. Full marks to the owners of Chateaux de Bridoire for the work they have done to restore the property; it's quite a story. The grounds are laid out with a variety of games, most a bit beyond our 3 year old but should amuse older children and even some adults. There are a few rooms that are furnished and a great display of copper pans in the kitchen. Although there is a credit card machine, cards are not accepted for entry fees, only for purchases from the shop. We had a good picnic in the grounds.

We visited Chateau de Bridoire about half way through a vacation in rural France. The children had seen enough museums and historical sites and demanded a day off. Chateau Bridoire was perfect. The medieval games are fun and the chateau itself is lovely. All of us had a great time, and even learned a little something. The chateau sells snacks and sandwiches. However, I would recommend bringing your own picnic if you want to stay for a full afternoon.

How this wonderful 'Sleeping Beauty' chateau has been transformed in the 10 years we have known it. The association that have saved it deserve accolades; the interior that has been done to date is atmospheric and true to its epoch and was such a treat to wander around, as opposed to peering through grimy windows as we'd done in the past. The most has been made of the exterior courtyard and field. Wonderfully simple yet entertaining games from the past kept us all, from 3 to 60+ laughing and running around all afternoon.Just a note, the French don't do much health and safety, so watch it when you play with the trebuchet! The elastic is strong and the 'bullets' travel a long way. Watch out for the swinging sack game, had our little one off his feet but he roared with laughter as he'd just seen his Nan swiped sideways! And some of the signs in the Goose Maze had sharp edges and protruding screws to catch on little arms.I hope all this has whetted your appetite! Take a picnic or share the picnic baskets, wine and beer available on site.

Having read the reviews I was still slightly sceptical about visiting Chateau Briodoire. However after spending 10 mins there I had no reason at all. We took our family of five with 2 teenage girls and one 5 year old boy and we all had a fantastic time. It was great fun for all ages (my 14 can daughter can be difficult to please) and allowed us to spend some fun quality time, playing good old fashioned and inventive games from the past. It had a great relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The house was wonderful too and whilst they are renovating it they have still maintained a lovely rustic feel to the place. Not forgetting the children as there were games/ activities in most rooms too. In a day of high tech gadgets and games it was refreshing to escape all of that and spend a lovely afternoon playing simple games with a bit of history thrown in. I cannot recommend highly enough.

We ventured here on a drizzly day as we needed to find an occupation that would satisfy the whole family. This is a lovely place to visit. We visited with our 3 year old daughter and there was planty for us to do - a few of the games were too old for our daughter but I have to say overall she thoroughly enjoyed it and participated in most of the games. As she was 3 years old her entrance was free of charge so the cost of our trip was sixteen euros for the three of us and we had a great afternoon - we stayed for 2 - 3 hours and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend this.

Having read the other Tripadvisor reviews we thought this might be worth a visit on a cloudy day. Very glad we went! There are 30 or so old, mostly wooden games including quoits, a sack race, a catapult, skittles etc which royally entertained all the children in our party, aged from 3 to 8. Many of these are scattered across the lawn as you arrive, which makes it look very inviting. The building is still being renovated and it's relatively small so the games are probably the key attraction. The cafe only sells picnic hampers (we took our own and ate on the lawn), coffee, cold drinks and ice creams plus lots of gift-type food e.g. jars of preserved fruit but it's a nice, quirky place to visit.

Such a great concept. A beautiful setting in the grounds of the chateau absolutely filled with old fashioned games. We had such a lovely time. Our 4 year old and our 1 year old found plenty of things they enjoyed playing with and the adults were well entertained too. It makes you realise how much fun you can have without a single screen or ride! It was a busy day but there were so many things to play with that we were never hanging around waiting for long. Our son especially enjoyed the archery section and so was delighted that they sold bows and arrows at the shop! I can definitely see why it has had so many good reviews.

Our family (8 and 10 year olds) joined forces with some friends from home (with children aged 6 and 10 years) to visit the chateau today. It is disarmingly simple stuff - a mix of traditional games (most familiar to us) including bowling, using toy crossbows and a maze etc, but with 30 games or more it really works. Combined with the compact and beautiful chateau and the low key nature of commercialism, it is a refreshingly wholesome experience. We took a packed lunch, but older visitors might try the castle cafe's picnic hampers sitting under the shade of the trees in the keep. Thoroughly recommended.

This was good fun for us and our 3 teenage boys who thought it was one of the best castles they have been to (and we have been to loads!)The games were a great attraction and everyone enjoyed playing them and we were all impressed with the castle and the way it had been renovated. Quirky and interesting.

This was our best visit in all of Dordogne - a beautiful castle from the outside and best of all loads of old games for all ages to enjoy. Kids loved it, as did we. Only negative was the price of the picnics they provide - very very expensive for not much food. So take your own picnic definitely. But a brilliant day out. Do it.

An afternoon was just enough. Kids loved the games inside and outside the castle walls. Even though it's the hight of the season, it wasn't that busy and we didn't have to wait to try any of the games. We took snacks for mid afternoon and had a lovely relaxing hour under the trees whilst the kids went off to play. Only 10 mins or so south of Bergerac.
