As noted by a previous reviewer, the Musee du Velo is in the middle of nowhere! It doesn't look a lot from the outside ... there are bikes outside including a giant racing bike and you enter a mail hall that has various bikes and memorabilia of display, but at this point it is interesting but you wonder if the trip was worthwhile. However, at the end of the hall you pass through double doors into a history of the Tour de France ... historic bikes and jerseys are displayed in time periods (normally representing a decade or so) along with video footage from the time. Towards the end, there is a game of matching famous jerseys to the right racer, which entertained my 10 year old! All of this is in French, but there is a binder with English translations available at the desk (which is worthwhile). This is an excellent display with some really interesting objects, and the later videos (1980's onwards) really brought back some memories. All of this was without charge - don't know if that was an oversight on their part or if the exhibit is genuinely free, but it was well worth the trip.

This is a little gem, in the middle of nowhere... I am a cycling fan and just happened to spot the brochure at another tourist spot. We were nearby, so I stopped in. The museum has a large number of bikes, some fairly old. But the main attraction is a well done exhibit on the Tour de France through the years, featuring video, bikes, jerseys and other paraphenalia from the tour. Several big rooms hold associated items - giveaways to fans, newspaper coverage, board games and the like. I found it a fascinating way to spend an hour.
