We just had lunch in the bistro since the hotel is closed for renovation. The lunch was excellent at a very reasonable price. The bistro is next door to a fabulous wine and olive oil shop.

Beautifull property, and magnificent vineyard.Highly recomending this place, everybody looks, very happy testing all the magnificent wines, for free, and enyoing the gardens and the views. There is also a restaurant.

Lovely setting for a wedding , Good facilities, very friendly helpful staff . We spent 3 days at the venue.

This place was jaw-droppingly beautiful. The photos posted don't do it justice and really it's better to just go and be ready to be awed. 1500 acres and not a telephone line or electrical wire in sight. Impeccably well maintained and visually designed. Just stunning. Like being in a secret dream...definitely worth visiting if in the area for a thoroughly relaxing experience.

Chateau de Berne has some nice restaurants (reviewed separately) and an excellent small hotel, but is also a functioning vineyard that offers tastings of the wine produced at the chateau plus a shop featuring the wine (naturally) plus olive oil and other local produce. You probably won't visit the shop on its own as the drive in from the Lorgues road is quite long, but it's certainly a place to spend 15 minutes or so after a nice lunch in the restaurant.

Special designed bottles that promises more than the quality of the Wine.The landscape is fantastic and castle a real beauty.

Enjoyed a fantastic family wedding and wine tasting event at this beautiful chateau and as we were staying a while longer in the area, my wife would not have forgiven me if i had not booked a dinner here for our anniversary. The surroundings are simply stunning and just being around the chateau with its immaculate vineyard and ivy clad main house makes you feel good. Had a 3 course meal and had all their own wines sold by the glass which was great as i prefer white or red and my wife prefers rose. regular sampler/taster courses added to a memorable evening and the service simply could not have been better, we were seriously pampered but not unduly disturbed. If anyone is anywhere near this area, it would be unwise not to visit. Great gift shop, wines are a revelation esp Wild Pig and scenery is STUNNING

Was visiting Lorgues for a family wedding and discovered the hidden treasure of this chateau only 15 mins drive from Lorgues. The complex comprises a wine cave complete with cellar door and souvenir/craft shop, a cafe bistro, a beautiful lounge area and a reception centre. Outside were beautifully manicured gardens, lawns with a lily pond and a water feature. Adjacent was a 5star resort style hotel in an older chateau building. The wine tasting was free and very informative. The helpful staff spoke good English. A great spot to taste the local wines and enjoy a long lunch.

Friends told us to go there and they were right: it really, really is an excellent restaurant. The staff was very friendly and even when you are the most spoilt guest ever you feel pampered here.

The whole ambience of the Chateau de Berne is ve, is splendid and each of the three places where you can eat and drink have a special ambiance. I've eaten at all three. None of them disappoint considering the level of service that they offer. The main restaurant in the Hotel is perfect for a quiet and intimate evening out, with excellent service, but i have eaten better in other similarly classified establishments

I was really looking forward to Chateau De Berne lying by the pool in the lovely french country side. Well the country setting was lovely, however the pool was not working and nobody had informed us prior to our stay which was disappointing. We did make good use of the spa facilities though which were great. Staff were also very helpful only flaw to service through our stay was they tried to charge us for a breakfast we didn't have. Overall a pleasant two nights

We were staying in Lorgue, in the hills above the Cote d'Azur - good spot, by the way, and delightful outdoor dining in the village centre at night.You get to Chateau de Berne by taking the D10 out of Lorgue heading for Salernes and Aups. It's not far - 10 minutes or so to the entrance. Then, the fun starts. As you head through the impressive gateway you start looking for the Chateau - in fact, it is still a delightful 10 minutes drive away along a long and winding roadway flanked by vineyards and olive groves.On the day we went, in early September 2013, the grapes were hanging black and ready for harvest. Occasionally, we slowed down to let an estate tractor go about its business; a huge wine vat stood at the edge of a field; in the distance, the forested splendour of the Var stretched away to the horizon.There are other places of interest to stop along the roadway but we were heading for the 'cave' and we were not disappointed when we got there. Like OneNorwegian, we would agree - this is a classy place.The Chateau de Berne produces its own wine in distinctive square-shaped bottles - its rose and red wines are lovely and we can heartily recommend them. The 'cave' is beautifully presented with a nice little cafe and dining area, good toilets and plenty of parking.There is a picnic area a short stroll away so the owners are obviously happy for you to bring your own food if you don't want to use the cafe. There are lots of places to walk or cycle if that is your thing.The gift shop, though, is the gem at the heart of this estate. Gift shop is actually a poor description - it is a beautifully-presented, graceful and massive space, filled with high-quality glassware, linen, oils, wines and preserves. Most of the produce is made on the estate itself. The sort of place where you can spend 30 or 40 Euros but wish you had a couple of thousand to lavish on the cornucopia of delights within.I have seen the comments about the rude service. Fair enough. On the day we were there, the lady behind the counter was very pleasant and attentive; later, we lounged in the shade of the plane trees outside with coffee brought by the lovely lady with a big smile who was looking after the cafe. Speak as you find.Later, we meandered our way slowly back down one of the longest private drives in Europe. Next time, we will stay for a meal.

I went to the cafeteria to ask for a cup of tea. Apart from the fact that they had a very small choice of tea bags, simply not replaced when they were running low, they were also incredibly unfriendly: I asked to be able to sit in the comfortable chairs, where people were having their coffee. I was told I cannot do that. Have to sit in the stinky part, where sandwiches were served. Had no idea why? The shop is just a busy shop with hugely overpriced vine in it, which the locals seem to like very much. We did not. The restaurant was extremely cold, unpleasantly, despite being warm outside. We were hoping for a visit in the 'Cave', all signs show the way towards it, then u are shown a barrel storage place through the restaurant window. That was that.A very disappointing, vulgar operation, making bucks out of every aspect they can grab, as shown on the video, constantly advertising themselves.Not a nice place!

We have had dinner in chateau de Berne several times. Each time the food itself was very nice! The service during the aperitive though was each time unprofessional! We ordered each time a bottle of champagne and twice they managed to poor out half a glas in the champagnebucket!! They did not even apologize.The food and the service during the meal was always very nice!This time we decided to make reservations for the spacentre for 3 people. We phoned them in the morning and asked them what package they could offer us for one of the next days... 7!!! Phonecalls and 10 hours later they just told us it was fully booked. I phoned one last time to let them know we were very dissapointed and were not ok with the way we were told off. The person on the phone (who was always the same person) first tried to come up with excuses but when I said that was bull**** (the pool was so called fully booked unless we made reservations for another treathment --> which we first agreed on but then all of the sudden also was fully booked) he acted like he didn't care and encouraged me to share this information on the internet.. We are dissapointed having to do this but obviously it proves the lac of proffesionalism...

Let me start with a couple of clarifications as we had some trouble finding out: 1) There are two ways leading to the Chateau. First, there is one road going straight up from the centre ville of Lorgues, however this is a very narrow road and I think it is a better choice for the return drive than for going there on your first visit. The other road goes via the main entrance which is impossible to miss if you are on the road between Lorgues and Villecroze. 2) The Chateau has three restaurants. The Orangerie is indoors with white table cloths and all. The brasserie is outdoors under trees and where you should go for a nice lunch. Then there is a third place adjacent to the wine shop where they seemed to serve simpler dishes, sandwiches etc. We had lunch at the brasserie. The starter was kind of boring, a melon soup with zucchini, but the main course was a really deliciously prepared fish. And the dessert was delicious. The farm is just fantastic, large vineyards and a lovely park adjacent to the restaurants with a fish pond around a helicopter pad (and yes, it was in use - people were flying in for lunch). Classy, pricey, but worth the experience.
