My daughters and I shared our first Kir at the restaurant in this building. Sat outside on a cool October day and enjoyed the view, the fountain, the people and the Kir.

We walked through the street as part of the Owl Trail, it is lovely to see the old houses preserved so that we and our children can see how things were built years ago. It is quaint and all the different architecture is amazing. Worth a walk through.

One of the most evocative cities in France and surely the most under-appreciated. The old town with its timbered walls is super - 100's of buildings, large and small dating from Medieval times, some still used as they were more than 500 years ago.

As old friend is good, the old town looks very nice.Unfortunately, my country renovates so many things. It's hard to find the old style buildings or streets in Korea. I hope my country governors learn from here how to preserve the old traditions.A street market was held when we visited. I didn't know what people were buying, it looked charming. Seeing was good enough for me.

This is a beautiful little street with really well preserved original houses. We enjoyed the architecture very much.

Part of the Owls trail and full of old timber framed buildings, some with elaborately decorated windows and traditional Burgundian tiled roofs.

For sure if you go to Dijon, schedule 1/2 day for enjoying the street and the surrounding. Shopping sightseeing and just relaxing. Don't hesitate getting lost in small streets next to this one, passing from a street to another one through a building. After all you can just ask for the station direction once you want to find your way back ("gare" in french)

We were staying in the Ibis Dijon Gare, about a 15 minute walk from this area. The street is very popular with visitors and shoppers, very level for wheelchair users. There are a lot of very interesting buildings but at the time we were there they were mainly closed

From the train station, The Rue des Forges is an easy fifteen minute walk over flat terrain. It is a lovely area of old timbered houses, quaint shops, and cobblestone. It is a gem for historians and those who love photography. The street marks the heart of Old Dijon. The great thing here is that you can quickly access other streets in the area, which are equally impressive due to a bit more solitude. Other places, such as major churches and he arts museum are also an easy walk. Many early mornings feature street vendors selling everything from clothes to fresh fruit. If you have only a couple of hours, you can (from the train) take a nice walk through this area. It is lovely, walkable, and has a charm all it's own.

Strolling through Dijon old town is quite an experience. I wandered around from streets to streets early in the morning when there is not much crowd. I love the peaceful feeling and enjoy many wonderful old buildings every where I look. Definitely a destination that I would come back to visit in the future.

Wow, was enlighted, luxurious, pleasure, check what happens so many years ago and how they lived at that time.It is a journey to the past.

Historic and beautiful part of the ancient city. It's a must for photographers and history fans. We are all lucky that Dijon was spared by the ravages of war through the centuries. And it's free!

On the face of it this looks like a short shopping street. Yes, great shops selling all manner of bits an bobs, fantastic sorbets near the Place Rude and the tourist office at the far end. Hidden through doorways and short corridors are some fantastic courtyards and houses. Be brave and if you see an open door which appears to lead somewhere go in and see fantastic Medieval house tucked away.
