Few cities have parks as close to the city center as Ljubljana. 300 meters or less, great for running and well taken care of. Check the photographic exhibitions on jumbo pannels on Plečnik's walkaway.

All in all a well taken care of park. Good for dog walking and kids to play in as they have their own little area with swings and whatnot. The is a standing exhibition 365 days a year that they change every month so that is cool.

Go here and delight in the tight technical single track around a gorgeous piece of bature set so close to the city. Explored over a few days without crossing the same tracks. So good! #stravarun

The park is in central area. Though it would be more enjoyable in summer, it was still good to visit the park in winter. just a word of caution as most people warn you from venturing there later in the evening /night-after dark as its not considered very safe, even though most of the city is safe most times.

One of my favourite place in Ljubljana. Especially in summer, when the weather allows you to go out. It is awesome to organise a picnic with someone and enjoy it for several hours. Also a good place for hiking and jogging.

it's amazing how close you have the city bouncy life and the calm relaxing nature atmosphere, really just few steps apart.

It was great to see the open area for local people to use. Also the fitness trail looked good although we didn't use it. The photos were good too that were displayed down the drive to the large building. We also saw a red and black squirrel.

There's not anything that special to see in Tivoli Park but I would definitely say it's worth a visit for anyone that likes parks, nature and casual strolls. The proximity of the Rožnik hill is an extra bonus. I wrote a longer review here: http://www.ilovejourneys.com/tivoli-park/

There were some large photos on display as you enter the park but amusingly the caption did not match the photos some of them were so completely wrong that it made the exhibition very funny which could have been a little dull otherwise. The walks are good but some are quite steep. There are few maps or signposts so generally not very helpful when the park is unknown to you. There is a church, cafe and toilets at the top. There are also ponds and children activity areas. Nice place to be but quite busy particularly on a Saturday afternoon.

Tivoli is located only a few steps away from the down town.(3-4 minutes by walk) A history of City Park is connected to a famous Czech gardener Vaclav Heynic, who was also a gardener in London and in Vienna. When the municipy of Ljubljana accept his plan how to arrange suburban woods in to a City park, he decide to name it Tivoli as it was in Rome and in Paris /the end of 18 Century/ Later development of Tivoli is tinny connected with two famous architects. Austrian Lattermann and French( during the goverment of Ilirian Provinces) Blanchard. When Austrians defeat Napoleon army and officers of Austrian army became very popular among those days inhabitants of Ljubljana, the Municipay of Ljubljana decide to donate a Tivoli Castle to one of the most great Austrian officer, Marchall Radetzky (I am shure You know J.Strauss jr. masterpiece,Radetzky March) Well later Tivoli became a check point for youth of many generation and still is till nowadays.

In most cities you have somehow biggest park somwhere. This ona has also hill for recreative activities. Most turists will not go there. If you have few days and you want to read book on summer day next to the pond. Perfect. In the evning you can go with uour romantic friend on coffe and during walk tou can admire photo show next to walking path.
