We decided to walk from Holic to an old 9th or 10th century church, as much for the walk as the cultural experience. We are so glad we did.The church is being preserved We arrived just before some restorers. They talked about the the original features......that there are layers of frescoes going back to Gothic and earlier periods. Archiologists have been studying this building and its surrounds on and off since 1964. The building and surrounds have been submitted as a UNESCO world heritage site.We had to read more, and will now visit the archialogical site on the Czech side of the Morava (River) tomorrow at Mikulcice. If driving, the narrow road to the church is off the north east end of Masarykova (street) in Kopcany. We walked about 5 Km from Holic. Walk towards the old Castle/Chateau, and continue in that direction for about 4 Km (detouring around the outer most of the castle). The road does not bend or have any intersections. There is a sign at the 4 Km mark, where the road has a dog leg to the right and left. Just before the church, there is a 17th or 18th century ruin.
