Ruins of castle Lichnice located on the rocky hill the Lovetinska gorge (Lovětínská rokle) in iron Mountains (Železné hory), near village of Podhradí, municipality Třemošnice and 15 km eastward of Čáslav. The bastioned castle already in the second half of the 12th century. Zhe stone Gothic castle built Smil of Lichtenburg from Žitava in 1250. In 1410 castle acquired royal status. The castle was enlarged in the 15th century, rebuilt in the 16th century, demolished after the Thirty Years´ War. The Emperor Ferdinand II in 1637 placed here a military crews. By 1700it was described as a ruin. Offers a beautilulview of the surrounding area.
