This church is truly stunning. Being one of the oldest cathedrals in Czech constructed in gothic style its interior is very unusually light for a gothic church. The staircase leading to the upper part of the church is an architectural masterpiece! If you are visiting the "Bone Church" don't miss out on the church just across the street!

This is another UNESCO heritage site not to be missed in Kutna Hora. It is very close to the Kutna Hor Sedlec train stop and it is about 5 minutes. The church is magnificent and i like it for being not too complicated and very well maintained (probably due to its UNESCO heritage site status). There are some valuable altar paintings which I enjoyed very much. I took a short walk in the church including the upstair to have a good view of the church.

This church is very special in several ways. First the building is truly grand, and very impressive. As for the inside it is very luxurious. The history behind this church is very interesting. This is definitely not an ordinary church. I highly recommend it

Prague is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. But, if you find yourself with an extra day take an organized tour (or an hour on the local bus) and get to Kutna Hora. The town itself is small and charming with lots of shops and restaurants, and of course Churches. I have seen enough of those for a lifetime - but these were fantastic. The Church of Bones is amazing, and not macabre or off putting. It was "decorated"by a local monk with the bones of 40,000 bodies that had to be reinterred due to construction. And there are 2 other churches that should be visited, St. Barbara's and Church of the Assumption. Plan a whole day of walking, but take the local bus from train station to St. Barbar's unless you are up for a couple more miles on top of everything else.

The impressive Gothic style architecture of the looming building in the sky sure is an eye-catcher. The exteriors are defntly beautiful, awe-inspiring and made me stop a while to take in the beauty. The building is longish and contrasted beautifully against the blue sky. Supposed to be a UNESCO site, but entry by fee is putting off. After all, it is a church and a place for worship. We did put a foot inside, had a look around whatever was visible, decided we did not want to pay to enter a church and promptly walked out, which I later realized was a wise option. Most of the attractions close at 16:00 and one can do better in investing time and money in attractions unique to Kutna Hora instead.

I have been a few times to this place but took some American friends for their first visit and they were very impressed by this. Easy walk from the train station .

Two things I liked in Kutna Hora-Cathedral of St. Barbara and the Church of Bones. St.Barbara looks very beautiful outside, the church of bones looks very interesting inside.

There wasn't much beautiful to see for an atheist. It is an Unesco world heritadge sight but i found the bone church nearby much more intresting than the Our Lady.

I enjoyed my visit very much. Apart from the beauty of the church the incredibly detailed display at the west end of the nave outlining the history of the Cistercian Order and the monastery of Sedlec through the ages was impressive. What a shame the monastic buildings became the nucleus of hte largest cigarette factory in Europe!

We bought a ticket that included admission to this, the Sedlec Ossuary and Cathedral of St Barbara. I would not have picked this church to visit, and frankly I did not get as much out of it as the other two. But it is a UNESCO world heritage site, so lots of historical significance. It is a block or 2 away from the Sedlec Ossuary.

It is simple but gorgeous. Take the walk "through the roof" - it was rather interesting. Walking just below the tiles through a system of catwalks gives you a different perspective at the "inside" of such a gorgeous building.

beautiful Gothic cathedral, rebuilt in recent years, the main balcony is accessed through attic area, worth a visit

This is an impressive, Catholic church. While the confession boxes and benches stun you with their artful woodwork, the windows are unusually plain and the walls appear rather bare for a Catholic place of worship. However, there are plenty of holy statues which delight with their golden ornaments and abundance of angels. The Ossuary across the street is of course your first priority, but it is advisable to stop by the Church of the Assumption as well on your way back to Prague...

This church is quite nice, and very close to the Ossuary, so convenient to get to. When you go in you are given a little leaflet which guides you throughout the church, and is quite interesting. Not something that you would go to Kutna Hora for, but while you are there it is nice to see.

Frankly, we got this church on the three-part ticket. We were thinking that if the train was leaving soon we'd skip it as we'd seen the bone church and St Barbara's already and were freeing to death. Thank goodness we missed the train we were hoping for because this church is great! They are in the process of restoring it and it is coming along nicely. The church is bright and fresh, not like most churches/cathedrals you might visit. The vaults simply spring up, ceiling frescoes floating above you. The paintings have been restored and there are photos showing the restoration process. As mentioned before, you can take the stairs up and see the guts of the building before coming out to the area above the doors. Really, do see this church.
