Technically I think the reserve closes on the 31st October but there was little to impede a wonderful walk down to the beach. Unable to drive very far from the 'Montallegro' entrance given condition of road, but the walk itself was well worth it with good variety of bird life. One warning though, it wasn't until we were almost at the beach that we saw a notice indicating no dogs, not even if on a lead.

We hiked at the reserve, it was great. We were alone at the beach and had a great walk with a wonderful view. We left the car by the watching tower, the guard helped us with directions. Its important to take water and food with you. Make sure not to leave any trash cause some people did...

If you just want, lovely sand and clear, warm water from your beach this is a great place to go.It is very much off the beaten track and you will wonder where on earth your going as you wind down a very long, rutted dirt road but eventually you will get to a field with a very nice attendant who takes a very reasonable fee to park for the day. There is nothing there apart from sand and sea so bring everything you'll need for the day. If your lucky the ice cream man will turn up and nothing beats a proper gelato on the beach.

If you like enjoy a beach with no many people, Torre Salsa is perfect. It's difficult to reach by car but when you arrive you find a very beatiful beach and it's not necessary to ask for a place for yoyr towel...Do not forger to carry on water and something to eat, there are not restaurants.

That if you share a positive experience of a place of fantastic natural beauty, is that it soon becomes very popular and the one thing that makes it attractive disappears!Torre Salsa is a WWF nature reserve with a beach of fine sand, clear sea and nothing else. So if you need your beach experience to involve hire boats, bars and inane europop then you will find other beaches along the coast best suited to your needs. It does have a car park (3 euro) with a very friendly and informative attendant, so do find a minute or two to listen to him. Once you have taken the 5 minute walk from the car park to the beach, you are rewarded with a beach that doesn't disappoint.

Worth the effort to get there. The beaches are white, the water caritas blue and located in a natural reserve (wwf). It's a bit of a walk to get there.

It's quite unbelievable that you can still find such an almost untouched, open beach in Italy. Don't give up if you at first don't find it. There is a nature reserve but the road may be unpassable, so go through the "Agriturismo" with its park gate, pay 3 euro, and drive on, you can park at the end of any of the several paths to the beach.

We stayed on a camping beach near the port, in Sept. The port was pretty and cared for, but the city was a mess. Main problem is streets lined with rubbish, the smell and appearance has to be experienced. How do the locals put up with it?Rubbish was also apparent in other cities, and strewn in the countyside, and on some beaches.Where's the self respect? We think it's the black market culture, most business's want cash only,[ no credit/debit cards please ], so local authorities have no cash with which to provide decent infrastructure. The tourist areas on the east coast and in the north were a lot better, but I'd think twice about visiting southern Sicily again. Sorry to be negative, but something radical needs doing.Have a look at Sardinia to see how it could be with a bit of civic pride!

The beaches of Torre Salsa are located in a natural reserve., there are buildings near the beach and no facilities. There are few sparsely signposted but wonderful hikes through the natural reserve to the beaches. There are no facilities at the beaches of course. No rubbish on the beaches which is rather unusal for unattended beaches in Sicily!

Warning, you must a car that is able to drive on a dirt and bumpy path for at least a couple of miles. The beach is secluded and is a WWF site. Very remote and really nice, a def must if you are visiting the local beaches of Agrigento

We went here on a hot June day. It's a long long coastline with not too many people around but there is hardly any shelter from the intense summer heat. Go down well prepared and protected.

Relatively quiet and worth a visit. Like manyof the tourist spots, close to neglected countryside. At least it was accessible.
