Safari (by car) is an absolute must, really impressive. The biggest in Europe and animals from around the world come to welcome you through the window of your car. The zoo part (by foot) is nothing special.

With my family i visited the Fasanolandia parc and safari last October. The car safari is actually lots of fun and the diversity of animals, all of which you pass from short distance makes for a great experience. Although not worth €22,- perhaps, it is certainly something to consider when you are visiting the Martina Franca region. However, the amusement parc looks extremely tired like it hasn't seen renovations and fresh paint work in many many years. Although some of the attractions are okay (though look very dated), it is the animal part that particularly made me cringe and wonder if this 'zoo' was missed by animal protection organisations in Italy. Being the reptile assembly in a tent (sala tropicala), where because of the questionable 'housing' you expect an escaped animal at any moment or the metro zoo part. It all makes you wonder if these animals don't deserve better (newer) and bigger housing. But the miniature-landmarks of Puglia, the laughable Dino exhibition or the depressing restaurant ( with the in all fairness very friendly staff and decent food) makes the Fasanolandia parc unique in its sort, but not in a positive way unfortunately.

Okay so its not the cheapest place in the world 22 euros for adults and 19 euros for childrens, but we thought it was worth it. Firstly the safari, we were in an enclosure with about 40 lions and then roughly 20 tigers. Then it came to giraffes, zebras and camels. If you buy a bag of peanuts before you go in for two and half euros then you can feed these animals. Can t say we have ever had giraffes heads in our car before. Then after the safari was over you park up and pay 2 euros. You can then do the on foot bit. We first went on the monkey train, you are the exhibits with screeching monkeys climbing all over your cage. Got to say we didn t really enjoy that bit. The train that goes over bog cats wasn t working but we got to take the other train over to the island. There we saw bears, polar bears, rhinos and hippos. We got to feed the hippos peanuts and got amazing photos. The animals don t have the biggest and best enclosures by English standards but wow what an experience. In England health and safety has gone mad and this sometimes spoils our experiences. Got to say that Italys more lax approach to it made for an experience we will never forget and will truly treasure.

We have been to world famous zoos...but Zoosafari was so much more than what we were expecting! Best zoo experience I have ever had...by far! We not only saw, but we touched and fed exotic animals like giraffes and zebras! I will never ever forget the sheer cold fear that ran down my spine during the monkey train ride...fantastic experience!!

First of all, go prepared with some food to feed giraffes and zebras when you pass by with the car in the first area, kids will love it (pay attention, giraffes will go directly for the food bag, hide it!)Loved going around and enjoy an outing day with friends, the monkey area where you catch the small train surrounded by monkeys is cool (also prepare some nuts before going or you have to buy at the venue, quite expensive).Have fun!

It is a little zoo, have seen better but the kids enjoyed it. Go on a cloudy day as it can be very hot there. The fun park next to it is a tourist trap, avoid it!

Went to the zoosafari with our two boys, 6 and 11 on a very quiet day in terms of number of visitors. The kids absolutely enjoyed the safari experience, driving our car up close and personal to some of the wildest beasts. The animals are not afraid of the cars at all...on the contrary they approach the car, which is great when the animal is a camel or a horse, but can get your adrenaline going if it happens to be a 300kg tiger. There are many animals of the same species in their sections giving you ample opportunity to see them rather then as usually happens, the couple of animals they may have are either sleeping or hiding somewhere out of sight. The walking part of the zoo was also different since there are theme park style rides to take you around the animals. The monkey train was another unique experience as you are taken in a 'cage car' right in the middle of what looked like many colonies of baboons who jump on the ride, fight and play right there next to you. The park is not small yet not too big to have you tired by the end of it. We however expected the zoo to have more birds available. We also enjoyed the separate Sea Lions and Seals show on site. It is a 20 minute show featuring 2 sea lions and a seal. The ZooSafari at Fasanolandia is totally recommended for kids and adults alike. Plan to spend the day there as there are other attractions on site such as the Theme park rides and shows. Oh, don't miss the gorillas next to the monkey ride.On the down side, be aware that the park is not geared towards anyone who does not understand Italian - all signs and shows are strictly in Italiano. The entry price appeared to be a bit on the high side especially as we had to pay separately for the Sea Lion show - but we still felt the experience made the visit worthwhile.I hope the animals are well treated and taken care of, but I am no expert to comment.

The idea of passing near the most ferocious predators with only your fragile car glass bettween you and the beasts it makes you feel a bit of adrenaline rush! But.. there is a but , seeing those poor creatures just lying there on the grass with a neverending string of cars pasing by.I think that their place was in Africa.

The Safari section is really something, close encounter with the animals that are happy cheeky and accustomed to the vehicles. As someone else pointed out, everyone bar us foreigners was feeding the animals with peanuts that can be purchased just down road from Zoo. Well, our daughter did unwillingly share her biscuit with a donkey that licked it! I also agree with another reviewer, it's a shame the polar bears, rino and brown bear have such small mundane enclosures. All in all, better than I expected and a whole heap of fun.

very nice safari park for all aged from 5, including attractions :-)In hot summer, get ready with cold drinks

It can be a full day visit and can please all ages (Family of 5 with ages from 48 to 5 years old). Impresive quantity and variety of animals free to eat from your hands. Not all places of the animals were 100% clean (especially the monkeys' place) however it was August with high temperature and is not easy to control food remains smell.

Whilst in Puglia with kids there comes a point that they cannot take another piazza, another Norman church or castle and another Moorish fortified town. Even the cream and pizza bribery eventually wears off. This is when it is time for Zoo Safari. It is not cheap - 22 Euro for an adult and almost the same for a child but it will keep you entertained for at least half a day.The Safari bit is you driving your hire car around a large park with a quite impressive range of animals from monkeys and lions to llamas and donkeys etc hoping that they do not spark the excess clause in the insurance policy. The next bit is you park up - yes that is another 3 euro - and go to Fasanolandia amusement park. Some of this is (e.g the aquarium and various shows ) is included in the price - but other amusements like bumper cars and some scary rides are not. The kids will remember it more that all the culture and it may allow you to get away with more of what you really came to Puglia for.

Very nice Zoo Safari where one can drive between animals with his own car. There are really lots of animals around (dozens of Lions and Tigers). Kids loved it. In terms of education or modern species-appropriate animal husbandry we have seen much more progressive zoos. With kids definitely worth going.

We went there with our 4 children and another family of friends of ours a few weeks ago.I am not a fan of Zoos and I think there are plenty of other and more interesting things to do in that area of Puglia than this.Furthermore I found the price way too high! There's almost no difference in prices between adults and children!Find something else: not worth it!

I love going to zoos and have been to many in many different countries. This was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had - more enjoyable than the San Diego Zoo in my opinion. It is a large park, but not too big that I'm exhausted by the end of my day. We thoroughly enjoyed driving through the safari park and feeding the animals - worth every penny. We brought 2 kg of carrots and a head of cabbage and wish we would have brought 2x that! They also have a caged train that takes you through the baboon (?) area. So save some food to feed them. It's crazy, they all jump on the train climbing all over the cage waiting for food. A ton of fun! They also have theme park rides available which I thought were reasonably priced and had many choices for all ages. We will definitely be going back again!
