very cool experience... Its very safe, you dont need footwear as others have posted and certainly no sign of that has also been mentioned. The water, at 37 degrees is warm but not hot and you will want to get out after 15 mins or so especially if you go in Winter or spring,as I did. One thing that other reviewers have mentioned that is true.... you and your clothes with stink for days after.

We arrived in mid February shortly before sunset and there was a fantastic view of this natural side with hot water springs and people happily taking bath. Fantastic and romantic.

This was a unique experience for us. It is a free local attraction and gets very busy. But it's worth a doing if you have a day and want to do something different. Keep your valuables in your car and look for a spot above the falls to relax- it's less crowded there.

We drove to Saturnia on 19/11/2014 & the thermal springs were closed. A bit disappointing as so much is closed in November from restaurants to accommodation.

First visited more than twenty years ago, when it was more a local than general tourist attraction. still a great place, because you can't replicate this anywhere else. Warm water cascading down, beautiful countryside, the smell of sulphur, Tuscany generally. Saturnia itself is an interesting place to be/stay, but again more directed at tourists now than my first memories. Still worth a visit all the same, some good restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as the local area and history.

We visited here on a hot Sunday and it was very crowded with local families and tourists. It's an interesting place to see if you have time to kill. If you will not swim, you would not stay for long. There is not much else to do , except maybe people-watching which may raise some eyebrows I guess. If you are of the more conservative disposition, please bare in mind Europeans have a more relaxed attitude about body-parts out and about.

The parking is in a pull-off side road (not very much parking, either), but I guess you could also park along the main road. Then it is just a short walk down to these natural hot springs, which rush from the ground next to an old mill. The waters were warm and a beautiful turquoise color. A very unique setting. Note: no changing area or showers (besides wrapping a towel around yourself and standing next to your car). Very popular, particularly with German tourists (it seemed). You may want to wear water shoes or teva sandals in the water, but it isn't necessary.

Easy to find, great access, parking, open all the time and free. These hot spring were absolutely wonderful! we went at night and in the afternoon the following day and we loved every minute. It was relaxing and really really fun and beautiful. By the looks of it, it's also a favorite of the locals and anyone from couples to seniors and families go to have a nice time.

Beautiful hot water springs. If you want to relax, this is the place to be. The entrance is free... There's is a small restaurant near the springs. You can't miss this one.

We went in August although very busy it was just Italians as opposed to tourists. Really cool experience and such a beautiful place. This is the spa you want to visit for the real thing - not the nearby hotel. It's free so nothing fancy like lockers etc... But that's all part of it. A lovely little stop off.

My friend and I visited Saturnia thermal springs in August 2014 and it was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday! Based on what we had already heard about it, we weren't sure whether we would be able to find it, but it was really easy. We were driving from Viterbo direction towards Saturnia (I just typed the village into my sat nav). If you go along the SP10 route just south of Saturnia village, you'll find it nestled below a hill. You can't see the springs from the road unless you're coming from the hill above, but on a sunny day you know you're in the right spot when you see lots of people wandering around in swimwear. Just by the entrance there is a brown sign on a bend in the road, with a small turning down a little hill. The sign reads "Cascate del Gorello". Parking and entry are free for the springs (roadside parking) and there is also a petrol station just along the road. There are no changing or WC facilities. There is a terrace cafe overlooking the springs, where you can buy drinks and snacks. In peak season, the springs can get quite busy, but it isn't a problem at all because the springs carry on downstream - plenty of room to spread out. The water is comfortably warm and the rocky riverbed isn't too sharp, although waterproof footwear would definitely be a benefit. You'll want to store all valuables in your car as there is nowhere to keep them safe at the springs. I would recommend using swimwear that you don't mind stinking of sulphur for a while afterwards! TOP TIP: don't wear valuable metal jewellery in the water. My white-gold ring turned a horrible bright yellow colour (temporarily) and my friend's silver anklet turned black (also temporarily). This is probably because of a reaction with the sulphur, and even though it was temporary, it was a bit of a shock!

we got there on sunrise one morning and it looked magical. we had the place to ourselves and the mist from the hot springs with the sunrise was amazing. If you love nature and adventure , do yourself a favor and visit this spot. absolutely gorgeous

We love the natural hot springs in Italy and this one did not disappoint! The pool at the bottom is just like warm, but we climbed up the hillside to the waterfall with was hot.

Free and wonderful! They can get crowded in the daytime in spring/summer, so best to go at night. No one to stop you!Ps no changing rooms!

Breathtaking view of the Cascate from the hills, once there you can enjoy all the benefits of the spring therapeutic waters for free ! this a little precious gem of Tuscany that suddenly appeared whilst driving up the beautiful hills. And the water is about 38 degrees warm, simply bliss, a must visit.
