You can choose one track from few. We took this one with seaside, because there was too rainy for mountains. The views are really nice, it's quiet and close to nature...we even met a fox on our road!:) It was really nice time, but remember to take something on your had and neck - quite many insects there:)

There are easy walks for family from the car park and visitor centre. Harder walks must be accessed by bus and take water food and hats etc because there is nothing once you get there. We went on moderate trails as we had trainers not boots.Very lovely. We did not find the staff very friendly in the actual visitor centre. There is a good little cafe and a deli with a charming girl in charge near the car park

I can't believe the lack of Brits here. It's brilliant for children as it's flat for cycling, there's loads of wildlife and a great beach.

This place is for someone who wants to experience sea in its own beauty far away from constructed, man-made sea shores, bars, etc. The parking is tricky, you can enter the park by car ony if there are free places inside, otherwise you have to wait for a car to leave. (There are alternative options to reach the beach: bus, bycicle, etc.) We walked 5 kms to the south on the beach were where not even a soul except us. We met several foxes. Worth waiting for the sunset. :-)

A bus takes you from the toruist information centre inside the park (EUR 10,-). The hiking tracks are well marked, and have a great variety. To discover the parc,I've been advised by the tourist information centre to do Le Torri (The Towers). Well chosen! Asphalt, stones, dune sand and everyting in between take you to fantastic sites. Next time, I will do a more challenging track,I will return for sure! Please make sure to bring food and beverages, there are no facilities in the park!

Guys! Be aware of mites! I was in jeans and long-sleeve shirt but still I've got one. And it was infected with Lyme borreliosis. So, I'm on medication right now. And I saw people in shorts and t-shirts. I hope they were using repellent.I have nothing to say about the Park itself. We saw nothing! Not a single animal. We were there all day (the 8th of May 12am - 6pm), there were almost no people and no animals. We took 2 paths: mix of A2-A3 and A4. First part of all A-paths - 15 minutes walk on paved road with bushes aside (yeah, paved road in the Parco Naturale) without any shade and anything interesting to see. Be prepared! Take sun-hat and sunscreen! To summarize, this trip didn't worth time and money spent.

The Maremma Natural Park, one of Italy's oldest, is a great way to spend at least one day. There are quite a few options for touring the park - in the summer months you have to be with a guide, so check out their website for information. Make sure to start your day at the visitor's center in Alberese - you park your car there for free and take their shuttle bus to get into the park. The tours aren't cheap, but are worth spending money on. We were in the park in the off-season (September) so you could only join a group at 10am or 4pm. We got there in time for the morning walk, and it was wonderful - magnificent scenery and even the odd wild boar. The guided walk is not for adventure seekers, and goes along at a very relaxed pace, so it is good for families with smaller kids. In the afternoon, we went down to the beach at Marina di Alberese, a 5 minute drive from the visitor's center. The beach is gorgeous with crystal clear, calm water. So make sure you bring bathing suits - you don't want to miss a swim in this water. In the later afternoon we did a canoe trip down the river, which was a lot of fun, and another way to see this beautiful area. This is a great way to spend the day, especially if you have kids. Check out their website for various options regarding getting around the park, including cycling and horseback riding.

While planning the trip to Italy I stumbled upon a Maremma national park. Unfortunately didn't get the info from web, that there are very few options to discover the park without guided tours. You either have to have bicycle and start your trip from Alberese (where is also the information center of the park) or you will drive to Marina Alberese and take a walking tour from there. Both cases you should first pay for tour in info center. As Marina Alberese has limited space for parking, access there has toll gate. During the daytime it costs 2 EUR / hour and queue can last a bit, as there are many people on the beach. Beach is marvelous - sandy and wild and not too much overcrowded. Definitely is Maremma park worth seeing, but pls prepare - buy tickets and make sure you know how to move around. By car and by foot there are not so many options available.

we recently went to this park with our two and half year old and 5 month old, we had a double buggy and the walking gear and were looking forward to getting into the park for a hike, unfortunately we were not allowed on the bus to get into the park with the buggy, they said the route was not suitable. Instead we had to walk near the village which was a very sedate route and still cost us 12euro!! I am sure it is a very nice park but we were unable to enjoy it.

This is a stunningly beautiful natural park.We visited in May when it was almost deserted but I presume that it would be very much busier in July and August. You have to park in Alberese (free parking) and take an hourly bus into the park. It drops you off in the middle of the park and you can choose from a series of walks of varying lengths and difficulties. You then have to manage your return carefully so you don't miss the bus back as the waiting area has little to do whilst you await the next bus! There are a series of well-maintained and well-signposted paths throughout the park. There are plenty of animals roaming free - we saw deer and free-ranging cattle and lots of evidence of wild boar. The beaches are stunning, but for me the walks and scenery were the best.My only criticism of the park is that there are no distance boards around the park of how far you have walked/left to walk. You need to take food and drink as there are no facilities to buy food and drink within the park. I would also suggest mosquito-repellent as it is wooded and low-lying and although there were few in May I suspect that there would be plenty later in the year.

A stunning scenery, well-maintained paths and plenty of animals roaming free. Saw wild boar, deer, free ranging cattle and many birds of prey. Go to have an amazing day out, and if you can go from october to may to avoid the heat and the crowds. The beaches are also stunning, but one should really go for the walks.
