If the weather is nice you will be rewarded with some beautiful views. So peaceful and relaxing. Take a seat and take in the views.

This mole extends out for a few hundred metres into the Adriatic and is brilliant for admiring the views out to sea and along the coast. Then when you walk back you get a wonderful view of the empire splendours of the city.

The audacious mole, as we dubbed it, is a must see, affording wonderful views to sea and more importantly back to the beautiful cityscape. Try to visit in sunlight and at dusk or night. It is an easy stroll and extremely wide and safe.Your photographs, like mine, will echo what is already published but night time snaps back to Piazza dell'Unita can be very special and a wonderful souvenir of your trip. Don't miss it.

We stumbled across this as we wandered around Trieste. It's a nice waterfront and very peaceful. It was quiet enough when we visited. Only a short walk from the Piazza. Nice views out to the sea and back towards the city.

Walk up to the tip of the pier in late evening and enjoy the view of Trieste waterfront, with shining Piazza Unità d'Italia. Count how many churches of different denominations you can see from there (they say seven).

We have visited Trieste in the past and no trip to the city is complete if you do not take the stroll along the 250 metre Mole that stretches into the sea. On a lovely sunny day a two way trip therefore covers just under a third of a mile and the greatest treat is reaching the end and turning to see the City spread out before you. Interestingly the second part of the name was added to commemorate the Italian Navy ship The Audace which was the first navy vessel to dock after the First World War. There is a bollard commemorating this at the end of the structure.

This is simple, really basic, historic and true. The Istrian-model bollards have held to the pier many a memorable ship during the Austro-Hungarian past of the city.

The "Molo Audace" is in front of the big square "Piazza dell'Unita" and from there you have an amazing view over the city and the sea. You can bring a sandwich or a gelato and enjoy your afternoon relaxing.

The Molo Audace is part of the recent history of Trieste (and Italy), because is the peer where the Italian fleet moored when Trieste was united again to Italy, after the Second World War. However, this may be no the opoint for most visitors. Instead, the reason to walk thorugh the peer up to its end is the landscale (and the photos) you may enjoy at its tip, when turning back and looking at the Trieste palaces along the sea front. The view is really wonderful!

This old Molo is my favourite place in Trieste for a short walk. You can just walk beside the sea and pass in front of Piazza unita and then go on Molo and sit right beside the sea. In the night ma and my friends used to lie down on the ground and watch the stars. In summer there are a lot of people there in the evening and some of them play music. The landscape of the Adriatic sea and its ships and the hills is so beautiful. Definitely a Trieste must!

There is no bad time to go to out on the Molo! If you go out during the day you can watch all of the shipping traffic, you can see all the way out to Miramar Castle, and when you turn back towards the city you can the mountains beautifully hemming in the entire city of Trieste. If you go out during the night, you can see the Piazza Unità d'Italia is lit up and looks stunning. We were lucky while we were there and got to experience the "bora", Trieste's crazy winds; if you have steady feet and are sure of yourself, walking out on the Moro while the wind is blowing is an incredible experience!

This stone molo (pier/jetty) really is like being at the edge of the earth. Go in the evening (when the square "Piazza unità" is lit up), and don't turn around until you get to the VERY end. Then turn to look at the square, it literally takes your breath away.

It changes with the seasons of course, but sitting on the pier in the summer, with the warmth from the stone and the lapping of the waves, you get the full impact of the essence of Trieste. You can watch the cruise ships on one side, and Ursus on the other, count the jelly-fish, admire the coast line and marvel at the view of the city.In the winter it is best to avoid it when the bora blows, but watching the waves break over it (from a safe distance) is enthralling.

You must go to the end of Molo Audace and look around well. It is in the heart of the city, so it is close to everything. There is an astounding view of the city, of the sea and of the surroundings.Go to the end and look away: if you are lucky (and the weather is clear) you can see the Dolomites, the island city of Grado. Round clockwise, on the sea level you can see the white castle of Miramare. Then on the hills the village of Prosecco (home of the cava-like italian sparkling wine), after that, on the top of the hills there is the Santuario di Monte Grisa (the locals call it formaggino = little cheese). And so on... Look and wonder! And ask a local citizen about the story of this pier.

From beautiful Piazza Unita', you can access the peer of Molo Audace, where the Italian army first arrived from the sea, making Trieste part of Italy in the first WW. The view of Trieste from the peer is outstanding both during the day and at night.
