这教堂位于城市东部的Castello地区，是规模相当大的歌特建筑，里面每个礼拜堂都很好，特别是贝利尼的作品。教堂前面的广场有骑马的塑像，这座像作为文艺复兴时期的作品，非常有名，值得一看。可以顺便看旁边的圣马克大会堂的正面，这也是很漂亮的。

Like a pantheon of Doges. This building and its art treasures will keep you hear for quite some time. It also has some of the finest stained glass in Italy.

I don't think the building/church is memorable. It is the art that you want to see. You simply can't miss the polyptych of St. Vincent Ferrer by Bellini, The Baptism of Christ by Piertro Mera, the 13th century Madonna of Peace Chapel, Bassano's St. Hyacinthus and Doubting St. Thomas. and several works by Veronese. Children may not find it enchanting...adults loving artwill be enchanted.

Cost a few euros to get in this huge church. Extremely different from St. Mark's church. A canal also runs right by so you can sit and watch the church and the wonderful Hospital. If you're looking to get away from St. Mark's Square and have time to stroll, it's worth a visit. Many doge arte buried inside, it's parte of the Venetian history.

This grand basilica, situated adjacent to Venice's only hospital (the former Scuola di San Marco), seems grand from the outside, but feels even grander on the inside. The burial place of many doges, it also house the tomb of Marcantonio Bragadin's skin (be sure to read "Empires of the Sea" if you want to know this piece of history). The interior felt full of grandeur and light when we visited on a sunny yet chilly winter day.

Unlike other Cathederal, these historical places Boast its own uniqueness, romance in its own way, you can feel the peaceful yet tranquil feeling inside ! A must visitTo go there , simply take the vaporetto no 2 heading towards Rialto, once you alighted just walk in front the Alley road and turn left, within 3mins you cant miss this ! Enjoy !

This is the largest church in Venice. It contains amazing tombs of 25 Doges. The sepulchres include some wonderful Renaissance art.

Nothing in Venice is really out of the way but this is north of the crowds. A great very old church with lots of history. They offer English guided tours for donation only on Thursdays by professional tour guides who volunteer to help the Church raise money to restore its stained glass and fix the roof. A great memory of Venice.

This church is huge, packed full of paintings and monuments. One thing I particularly liked was all the excellent signs explaining exactly what everything was. We also went to the Frari Church which didn't have as much information so we didn't enjoy that quite so much.We went late in the day and it was getting too dark to read all the signs so I needed to use the torch on my phone. It cost 2.50 euros and was good value.

Of course you must have a drink or meal on St. Marks square but it is VERY, VERY expensive. I paid $400 for a glass of champagne. But there is no place with this ambience and atmosphere that can match it.

Not as famous as the Frari, but perhaps even more beautiful, this church has exceptional proportions and a luminous gothic apse. it's crammed with tombs of Doges but it is so large and graceful that is doesn't feel cluttered. It is good to sit here for a few minutes and appreciate its exceptional spatial qualities.

I didn't go into Santi Giovanni e Paolo itself, but after trying to get lost in Venice, I found myself coming into a large campo, from the back, and it was this campo. I sat at a table in the campo and enjoyed a Spritz ( a must do in Venice) and watched the world go by, focusing on the locals...children playing, a grandma with her grand daughter, couples appearing to hurry home from work, and of course the statues and buildings surrounding me in centuries of history and stories to tell. Is wasn't a tourist filled campo....great.

Santi Giovanni e Paolo, known to locals as San Zanipolo, is a gigantic Gothic barn of a church built between 1333 and 1385. While it does not make a unified impression, its treasures are the tombs, monuments, stained glass, and paintings some of Venice's best artists have created to honor Venetian greats including 25 Doges.It's worth the 2.5 Euros to enter the church and closely examine (and photograph without flash) these masterpieces. My favorite is the large Murano stained glass window in the South Transcept, executed by Gian' Antonio Licinio from designs by Bartholomeo Vivarini. Another stunner is the Polyptych of St. Vincent Ferrer with St. Christopher and St. Sebastian by Giovanni Bellini (1475-1480).Among the best of the Doges' tombs are Pietro Lombardo's monument to Pietro Mocenigo, and Tommaso Mocenigo's by Piero di Niccolo Lamberti and Giovanni di Martino. Benvenuto Cellini crafted the monument to mercenary Orazio Baglioni.

This is the most beautiful of churches - simple in style from the outside and magnificent in all it's peacefulness inside. It truly is a place of enormous serenity and if it could be defined, holiness. It is a place to truly escape and reflect on the majesty of God who gave men the skills to create such a masterpiece.Outside is a small square with the amazing entrance to the hospital. When we were there on Saturday morning and passing through on Sunday morning there were charity stalls selling an assortment of second hand pictures, jewellery etc. The lovely restaurant by the canal is worth a visit too to drink and people watch in this unspoilt part of Venice.
