The Landesmuseum is located in Karlsruhe Palace. The Palace itself has a very impressive façade as you approach from the town centre. The museum itself is mildly interesting - and entry is free on Friday afternoons. If you are feeling fit, you can climb to the top of the tower for views over the town and the park that surrounds the palace.

For all history buffs out there, you need to visit this. Located inside the Karlsruhe Palace it contains one of the largest architectural collections starting from the ancient civilizations and the stone ages to the modern ages covering WWII and also the musics and sounds of modern times. There are especially beautiful pieces of Baden Wurttemberg royal heritage and it adds to the wonder of this place. The museum is huge and please come with 3-4 hours to spare.

Really big museum. You can spend all the day there. I have been there twice. The first I just saw the permanent exibition (it is already big and with a lot of different things to see), the second one I went to see the exibition: "Empire of Gods".

Its a nice museum with a lot of exhibits. I didn't like that in the first floor there was "treasures" from other countries like Egypt, Greece, etc. In other flooer there were objects combined with Kong Karl and his era. The museum could be better, if they kept a little the version where Karl lived. Every Friday,2 to 6pm, there is no entrance fee.

The Badische Landesmuseum is most definitely worth a visit, when in town. You can see many beautiful things and learn about the history of the city/region. The palace alone is worth visiting, and there's a tower with great views. The gardens behind the palace are beautiful with cafes, etc.

The schloss is undergoing renovation but this museum is open and it is a pleasant way to spend a morning. There is an audioguide in English which covers part of the exhibition. We really enjoyed learning a bit about the rulers of this part of Germany.the walk through the park is delightful

The palace (which the museum is in) is marvelous! We came on Friday afternoon and were announced that entrance is free between 14-18. Good!We wandered through the museum, nice exhibition and not many people. The highlight for us was climbing up to the tower, and see the whole city (almost...) from above.

If you have the chance to visit this historical museum please don't miss it. I have seen there an exhibition on the pre-historic cultures the upper Rhine Valley. The museum itself was already worth the visit. Even when there is no exhibition you will find beautiful and fascinating exhibits of the whole area of Baden-Württemberg from pre-historic times and the middle ages up to the 21st century. It is a very lively museum even for those who do not live in the area.

This museum is located in the large palace (Schloss) in the center of Karlsruhe. I went on a Friday, when admission is free, and spent some time wandering through the museum. I was unfortunately here during a heat wave, and like most buildings here, it was not air conditioned. They have an excellent collection of exhibits on ancient artifacts, medieval history, world culture, and things related to the history and culture of southwest Germany. I recommend seeing this on your visit.

The badisches landesmuseum is a palace of the Karl of city. Spread across a wide area, it is easily reached from the city. It has picturesque views. The large palace opens at 10 a.m. However, those who are not acquainted with the city history may need to do a little homework and then go to understand it better, or hire a guide. I would recommend this only for photography and a casual visit. Nothing too much exciting, except the scenery.

The interior is moderately interesting. You will find an archeological museum (partially closed when I visited) and a folk museum, with some well-preserved interiors. When you exit, be sure to make a walk in the park behind and go up to the tower!

When we arrived there, the weather was so nice that we had to spend time in the park (and forest) around the Castle (Palace). Look at these magnificent trees, brushes and flowers. It is amazing indeed.

I visited Karlsruhe during a month academic visit to karlsruhe institute and whenever i felt overwhelmed by work , a 30 min walk around this place and the surrounded wood were very helpful.
