Consecrated 12 July 1842. The patron of the Church, friar Venantius Arnold, was also honorary citizen of the city. Pastor Philipp Gärtner was already planning its construction during his life (on an elevated plot in current Luisenviertel) and financed this with 20,000 guilders (partly donations of Catholics in Baden, amounting to almost 6,000 guilders and partly by means of State aid), architect August Moosbrugger. The building combines a number of architectural styles, the Spire consists of 63 seamlessly merged segmentswhich are held together only by the weight of the keystone and the cross (almost four tonnes). The temporary Tabernacle was replaced by the high altar (sculptor Anselm Sickinger from Munich) and consecrated on all Saints Day 1869.
