The Black Forest Museum consists of a series of houses that are found in the region. You walk from house to house and back into time. The exhibits are interesting and well done. We could have used a bit more information in English in the brochure, but nevertheless the visitor gets a good understanding of local life and customs.

I learned a lot here about the history of the area, development of trade on the region, and was really impressed by how extensive the collection is--I expected a quick visit and we spent nearly an hour and had a great time. I really liked the organs (one plays if you put a euro in it), and the Fastnact costumes were great!

Cuckoo clocks of all shapes, sizes, ages and sounds, from the very earliest mechanisms using rock weights, to the more modern multiple mechanisms were just one of the attractions. The tour guide was passionate about sharing the wonders of the clocks, and also the various music machines in good working order, and very well displayed. This is well worth a visit.

A very interesting museum about life in the Black Forest, with traditional costumes, crafts, clocks and musical instruments. There is also a working model of the Black Forest railway. The museum has a café if you need a break; there are quite a few stairs to climb.

We visited on a drizzly day in September, but this meant that the crowds were not too big and we had a good look around. Very educational for culture and agriculture and explained a lot about European farm life through the ages. some crafts and live demonstrations but I guess not as many as in peak holiday times. Very good ticket office and reception/ restaurant/ souvenir shop facilities, discount parking with entry ticket. Wear sturdy shoes as there may be mud and puddles if wet and it has so much to see that you will need to allow for hours on your feet if time is not a priority. Only critisism is that there is little signage in English

If you are from a country background then you will really enjoy this. It is also a great education for town-dwellers as to how farming has evolved with good descriptions, working demonstrations and livestock. Lots of exhibits which you get right inside. For English speakers pay the extra for the audiophones as the commentary really makes a difference to the understanding of how it all worked. Best to give this a half-day to really appreciate it with areas for kids to play and explore if you want a rest

I like seeing the culture of a people and this museum was very interesting to me. I enjoy seeing the clothes, traditions, handiwork, and daily lives of different groups within a country. If this is what you like as well, you won't be disappointed.

A unique museum not to be missed. You can enjoy a variety of exhibits clocks, traditional clothes, carved wooden objects, trains, rocks. The museum also has a terrace where you can enjoy a delicious coffee. From the Museum Shoppe you can buy souvenirs of the region. I recommend!

This was a great museum, and had very interesting local exhibits covering a variety of topics. The English brochure was a little scarce, but with a little help from Word Lens, I figured it out. I definitely recommend putting a coin in the musical exhibits throughout- if nothing else to watch every one else's reactions!

the falls were nice but this Gem of a place over shadows them easily. This is a must do if your interested in the local culture and amazing local wood carvers If you go in spend the one Euro and play the huge music box/ organ/ automated band on the first floor . the sound it produces rivals todays electronic equipment

Schwarzwald is a beautiful place, and a museum in its name is definitely suitable. The museum was nice and very informative, however..everything was in German! The descriptions next to exhibits and all the information detailing the items on display was all in German! This obviously wasn't very tourist friendly, because it's basically there for people who speak German only. We were however given a leaflet in English which gave brief descriptions on the different rooms of the museum, but it still didn't allow us to enjoy and learn from the museum as much as we wanted to.

A well laid out museum highlighting the culture and history of the Schwartzwald. It would be helpful, given the number of tourists visiting Triberg, to have more English explanation of the exhibits.

If you have time, it's worth a visit. You get a good overview of the history and customs of the Black Forest. I wouldn't way it's a must see, but I'm glad I went.

Stopped at the Black Forest Museum, very entertaining, lots of musical devices and a surprisingly large clock exhibit. Well worth the time. Conveniently located accross the street from the Husach Waterfall. Good day trip.
