kandertalbahn

A lovely steam railway in Germany but so near to both France and Switzerland. Can be visited by train, you don;t need a car to get to it. Runs through fairly gentle but attractive countryside to/from the nice town of Kandern, Beautifully restored wooden coaches and historic steam engines are used. Staff were friendly and helpful but, at times, need to be a bit more customer focused. The track had a number of "dipped joints" making for a bumpy ride at times. Easy to photograph too from the local roads.
