This little island is fantastic. You will love the beach. If you intend to stay there long enough, be sure to have your umbrella because you will not find shade. You can rent a boat from lagana beach and go to marathonisi (I recommend you to do so because you will stay there as long as you like). The prices are reasonable.

Loved this trip! Loved this island! This was the best experience I have ever encountered. The caves and the jumping off the boat was magical. Totally tropical island and you really did feel like robinson crusoe! We wanted to do the tour to the see the loggerhead turtles but it was booked up that day and whilst we were disappointed about this, this tour more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend this trip and you will not be disappointed.

most amazing experience in zante! definitely recommend it. Get to travel to the caves, jump off the boat into the sea, cruise around and see the turtles and end up on turtle island!

We took a turtle tour from Laganas to turtle island. We saw one big beautiful Loggerhead turtle on the way to the island in the bay. The boat driver stayed with it for a good 20 mins for us to watch and take photos as it was showing off and blowing bubbles. The tour then went around the back of turtle island into a few of the caves - pretty coolWe then anchored on the beach on turtle island for 1hr. Good snorkelling and swimming. There was also a small kiosk boat parked there selling icecreams and snacks.Saw another turtle on the way back to Laganas (was probably the same one)

100% recommended. Been to Zante 4 times and each times been on this trip. You can see turtles and stop for a swim too .. Not expensive to do ( arounds 17 to 20 euros for adult and kids are negotiable) perfect 3 to 4 hours trips. Love it !!

Rented a motor powered boat and it was just idyllic. Loved it. Didn't see any turtles but did not matter. It's just lovely.

hire a motorboat out for buttons and go with some friends for a swim and beer! you probably won't see any turtles but its a good day out.

beautiful island that is only accessible by boat , crystal waters and a lot of beautiful caves in which they can swim unique attraction is a small boat floating around and where you can buy everything from water , ice cream, drinks, sandwiches ..... one word beautiful place, dont miss...

The island is best known for the Caretta Caretta, so it is an attraction for thousands of tourists everyday. You can only visit the island during the daylight, so you won't hurt the turtles. Also, the glass bottom boats are prohibited around the island, as well as walking on the beach were the turtles have their nest. Unfortunately, many tourists don't know or don't care about that rules, just like many locals that would take you anywhere for the money and not thinking about the turtles (and, as a result, about the feature of the island and the feature of their own). I recommend you to get information about what's ok and what is not to do during your trip on Marathonissi. There are associations and locals willing to inform you.

This island looks just like a Turtle from many angles, and is a regular stop on most turtle-spotting boat trips from Laganas. You may only visit during daylight and must keep to the shoreline of the small sandy beach as the centre is full of turtle nests. There is really nothing else here but you can swim in the crystal clear water and let the little fish give you a pedicure! It's lovely but the usual 1 hour or 90 mins stop is plenty.

Great experience, went to this island on a turtle trip me and my boyfriend booked for 12 euro each, spent 3 hours and stopped off 2 times for 45 minutes and then 30 minutes to swim in the ocean. The first stop was next to the caves were we swan into and through them, a little boat ran by a man and hit wife attached themselves to our boat and sold refreshments and snacks. The ocean at each stop was so clear and clean, you see a lot of gorgeous scenery and saw a few turtles even though they do state before the trip that they can not guarantee you will see turtles. Got sun stroke during the trip but it did not spoil the view. Would highly recommend.

Well, I was there in a little 3 hours trip. Do you dream when you was a child to go on the island where nobody else was? this is the place... I saw just one house there, and the nests of the caretta-caretta turtles... We stay only at the beach and without any sun umbrella to protect the nests...

We done a boat trip which went into the caves at the back of turtle island and went past the beach it didn't stop at the beach as its only smaller boats that were allowed. We saw a turtle swimming in the water on our boat trip. Would definitely recommend a boat trip. Blue waters
