Xerokampos consists of 7 beaches, all different and wonderful: sand, stones, even clay. The place is no touristic at all, you can absolutely relax and enjoy the clear blue water.

That's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Just wonderful beach, with almost no tourists... We were just along with my wife for the whole day in small beautiful harbour... Perfect place to get private. :)

Me and my husband visited Xerocambos in July 2014 - it's incredible! Sun, clear blue water, little bays with no one around, rocks, fish and echinuses. Perfect place for a private rest, deserted and romantic bays. One of our favourite places in the world!

We visited for an afternoon from Kato Zakros. A lovely beach, with a shallow sandy entry. There are many coves but we thought the best was the one past the archeological site. The water is so clear and blue.

Paradox: still like the paradise, thus i shouldn't speak about it, however, for those who make the windy roads to the far southeast of crete, try the apartments fyrtolakis, spatious, green, nice, 2 minutes to the beach (one of the many)... And make the hike from ther to kato zakros along the sea, but stick to the red signs! It is longish, twice two and a half hours, but its worth it....

One windy weekend we decided to try Xerokampos for a couple of days relaxation on the beach with our dogs. My reasoning was that there are a number of small protected coves, as well as longer more open beaches, and we would surely find somewhere to shelter from the wind. This didn't turn out to be true. We had a lovely weekend anyway.On the road heading out of Xerokampos (to the east), we found a large, empty beach where we could let the dogs run around without causing any damage or annoyance. The only problem with this beach was lack of shade, and with the high winds it was pretty near impossible to keep our small tent-shelter vertical. We were at Alatsolimni, or Salt Lake, which fills in the winter and is home to a variety of migratory birds, including flamingos!During the evening we went to the Akrogiali Taverna, or Sea Shore, behind Ambelos beach, which turned out to be dog-friendly.We camped out on a quiet patch of beach, and the next day had a wander up to the Hellenistic site of Xerokampos, just at the west end (and above) of the main beach. This site is not fenced off, and you are free to walk around the ruins. However, there is no information at all, and I have not found much while searching online.This settlement seems to have been ancient Ambelos, referred to in ancient texts. Now little remains of the settlement, although parts of the wall, foundations of numerous houses, and the odd mill stone can be spotted.Then we made our way round to the Argilos (Clay) beach. This beach has a dramatic backdrop of soft white clay that you can moisten and rub onto your skin for cleansing. You then wait in the sun as the clay tightens on your skin, and lightens to an off-white colour. And then you rinse yourself off in the sea at the next small bay.These magnificent bays, each with its own feature and character, contrast perfectly with the dry landscape of East Crete, and make for a great day out.

Erst Kato Zakros(Tempelanlage anschauen)dann weiter nach Xerokampos.Man hat dieMöglichkeit,noch bis in den Dezember zu baden!Die Fahrt und die Stimmung sindeinmalig,sehr zu empfehlen.Von Xerokampos aus die Höhenstraße ins Landesinnere.Einfach ein Mus.Man hat den Eindruck in einem Flugzeug zu sein.

bella spiaggia, Non è dietro l'angolo ma una volta raggiunta si può godere una bella spiaggia non ancora affollatissima come le più note. merita una gita.

Quanta strada per arrivarci. Però è bella. Forse non uno spettacolo in termini assoluti. Se ci fosse turismo di massa non sarebbe tanto più bella di altre spiagge dell’isola. Ma il bello è che non c’è quasi nessuno. Pace e tranquillità.

Dopo due ore di macchina di cui l' ultima tra le montagne deserte ci siamo di colpo affacciati su una bellissima baia incontaminata. Dall ' alto la vista é spettacolare , acqua azzurrissima , spiagge incontaminate e tutt ' intorno il nulla ! Dopo alcuni tornati ci siamo lentamente avvicinati alla spiaggia più grande di sabbia finissima dorata , quasi deserta , una decina di ombrelloni pochi, pochissimi turisti per lo piú stranieri ,un silenzio e una pace davvero indescrivibili. Forse uno dei posti più belli di Creta ancora poco sfruttati dal turismo solo con alcune taverne accoglienti e room to let sparse nella campagna circostante . Calette con un'acqua cristallina e trasparentissima . Assolutamente da vedere ,da fermarsi una due o tre notti per sentirsi liberi e in pace con il mondo .

Il paesino di Xerocambos non è molto interessante ma ospita delle meravigliose spiagge dall'acqua calda e trasparente: qui il Mar Libico la fa da padrone. C'è una spiaggia grande principale ma ci sono anche tre o quattro calette veramente belle. Non vi fermare a quella più grande ma spostatevi e trovate un angolino per voi. Se ci andate nel tardi pomeriggio i colori delle montagne sullo sfondo si coloreranno di rosso intenso e l'acqua prenderà il colore dell'acquamarina, sfumando con il passare dei minuti (qui il sole vi tramonta quasi alle vostre spalle). Le spiagge sono libere e quindi non c'è alcun servizio: portatevi acqua, qualche frutto e una maschera e buon mare!

Alona, la spiaggia che trovate subito arrivati a xerocampos e' una meravigliosa spiaggia sabbiosa non molto larga ma abbastanza lunga con parcheggio agevole. E' di solito una zona ventosa ma nonostante cio' il mare rimane calmo con trasparenze e colori impressionanti. Meravigliosa davvero!

Xerokampos è una delle migliori spiagge di Creta. In un angolo remoto del sud est. La strada, arrivando da Ierapetra non è agevole ma il panorama che si gode superando il valico montano è mozzafiato. La spiaggia è di sabbia finissima. Il mare è di un azzurro accecante. Caldo e calmo anche in giornate ventose.Per ora la spiaggia è ancora praticamente deserta. Anche al 15 di Agosto. Probabilmente per via della distanza dai centri più importanti e dall'assenza di un paese vicino.Secondo me questa spiaggia è superiore sia a Vai che a Preveli, tanto decantate.Super consigliata.

Чистый песчаный пляж с белым песком и отличным входом в море. Красивый вид, уютное место, отсутствие толпы туристов. Нам этот пляж понравился больше, чем раскрученный и более известный Вай.

Quando siamo arrivate a Xerokampos ci sembrava di essere in un luogo semideserto ma, quello che poi ha rivelato all'alba del giorno seguente è stata una vera sorpresa! Le piccole spiaggette sono un incanto e l'acqua è maravigliosa, i colori mi ricordavono la Sardegna. Volevamo rimanere solo due giorni e alla fine siamo rimaste in questo luogo una settimana e ce ne siamo andate a malincuore. La belleza di questo luogo sta proprio nel trovare pressoché niente! Abbiamo mangiato le loro prelibatezze sedute con con la poca gente del posto.E' stata un'esperienza unica..
