Hintertux is a one-of gletscher, as it is opened 365 days a year. You can summer snowboard at Hintertux every single day. There is a great restaurant, locker rooms, nice bathrooms, well groomed slopes and you can ride all day using gondolas only if you want (no need to use the t-bars nor the chair lifts)

Good lift service up to 3400 M. Excellent ski conditions, amazing scenery, fun variety of runs. The backside offers a large off piste bowl, and rock runs, leading down to a lift. Altitude ensures decent snow conditions.

Just visited Hintertux Gletscher which is just enourmus. There was no snow at all in the area with the exception of the Gletscher. the price for skiing is not so low (135 EUR 3 days), but worth for sure. There is a lot of routes for skiing with various difficulties. Realy nice Gondolas which protects a little bit from the wind over there. We had a day when we were skiing above the clouds - just amazing. I have been using a car but there are also skibuses taking all to and from the Gletscher. At the end the restaurant is serving really good food, local beer and wine.

Husband just went skiing there since there wasn't any snow anywhere else during our vacation in Germany. He hadn't been on skis in many years and was a bit intimidated by the steep slopes at first. Overall it was a great day.

Glacier is amazing. Efficient, spacious gondolas to the top levels. Restaurants, toilet facilities, terraces---all wonderful. Views from gondolas and of course Panorama terrace are fantastic. Ski and snow board slopes great for various abilities in family. We had hotel package that included daily ski pass. Bus from hotel to glacier ran often---family loved being on slopes every day.

Very great ski area, located on a glacier at 3000 m. Very nice and cosy restaurants on the slopes with a great choice and fair prices.

We got up to the glacier in September and to our surprise it was full of snow and lots of peaple were skiing and snowboarding there. Great place and unforgettable views on Austrian Alps!

The site Glacier is reached by a series of 3 cable car runs to reach the summit - subtle difference in temperature between the base camp and the top but the excursion was well worth the visit if you like mountain scenery. If you are that way inclined take your Ski's or snowboard - you can reach the bottom a lot quicker snow is guaranteed 365 days of the year...excellent excursion.

Hintertuxer glaciar is the most memorable experience in our Tirol trip. The entire experience -- three gondola ride to the top... view from the highest point over 3 countries... walking on glaciar... hikes from Sommerberg station... driving in Tuxer valley till hintertux... is worth the money and time spent and become precious memories. We were at partly sunny day of June.. there is plenty of snow at the second summit and tons at the top. The snow looks completely fresh. The ski seems the main activity but there are plenty of things to do for non skiers too.. Activities on Top: The view at open day over italian, austrian and German alps - more than awesome.. One can also view Schlegeisspeicher water reservoir from the top with the snowy mountain backdrop. There is tour for Nature Ice palace which is itself an amazing experience and require a separate ticket at top. There is also an option to take Glacier tour which runs only on MOnday, Wednesday, Friday (we couldn't take) but looks promising. There is also play park in Summer months (july-August). Activity at Sommerberg (first station): Play park in summer months. A beautiful view over Tuxer valley. Lots of scenic hiking options around the mountain and to the valley... The entire valley is worth to hike, experience and stay. We strongly recommend Hintertux glaciar to one want to experience snow in summer + awesome views + option to nature ice caves. The ticket cost is worth the trip and settlement they provided. The only negative part is: there is no toilet on the highest point. and no resting, refreshment, places at high most. The second and first stations are filled with facilities.

Should not wait for any reviews...it's really good for skiing and snowboarding, they have awesome food in the round restaurant and good installations.

Large slopes, hardly any waiting time at lifts, good conditions and snow. Apres-ski ambi at the carrousel is super.

Tour was about 1.5 hours. Tour guide spoke German and English . The view is absolutely spectacular from the top of the mountains. The tour inside the glazier was equally unique and worth the time and money..

We stayed half of the day there because the night before our ski day was snowing and the slopes were not prepared, lots of hills of snow...lots of difficulties for a proper ski.Positive thinks: slopes are looking very nice (even it not was the case in our ski day) plus that it was a sunny day !

Hintertux usually has good snow and there is a decent variety of runs for good intermediate skiers. The runs from the top of the glacier are not for those of a nervous disposition and some of the nicer runs can only be accessed by t-bar.
