muehlviertler schlossmuseum

Freistadt was one of the wealthiest towns in the Muehlviertl (beautiful rolling hills and farms north of Linz) in the Middle Ages. The entire old town retains its old charm complete with an intact city wall and towers. The museum is on one corner of the city wall and should be part of the entire visit of the town. Try to reserve a guide and they can explain all the wonderful history of this town. The citizens take great pride in their town and it shows in how beautiful it remails.
