Amazing view from one of the highest locations in Zemun. A very nice traditional neighborhood when you go to the tower and a very special way when you go down (ask somenone to show you the stairs). The gallery in the ground floor is not something special. The ticket you pay is a small visitor's guide, a very nice idea!

We have been there at the 1 of january and we didnt imagine it could be close we walk from Knez Mihailova to Gardos with visiting the all major places between that 2 point. When we arrive there we saw that it was close but even for that view is excellent you can see the beautiful river, the town which is called Zemun and a lot of places as well... It was evening time so the lights of tower makes it lovely and city was more beautiful with street lights.

We walked from Belgrade Fortress to Zemun, by the Danube river, on a great sunny day. The walk is about 10-12 km, but the views are fantastic, and there are so many people walking, that you do not feel the distance. Once you reached Zemun, climb a little bit on the top of the city, to get some great views on the Danube River, the city that lies downhill and the people who walk. It is a very nice place, the tower. It is very quiet on the top.

Recently restored it is the one of the best places to fill the history of Zemun, view is also impresiv.

When walking over to the tower you will stroll by many nice buildings, its quite the pleasant walk. Once you reach the tower and go to the very top you will be treated with amazing views.

I purposefully haven't said 'best view in Belgrade' in order not to upset the Zemun locals who are still convinced that theirs is not quite a part of modern Belgrade, but a town of its own. From an administrative poin of view it isn't, but who am I to argue? This tower was built to celebrate 1000 years of Hungarian existence, which is of little importance to us today. Suffice to say that it is towering ( what else would you expect a tower to do ?) over the Sava river and offers you the chance of a great view over the river, the Great War island and the opposite bank. The Fat Cat Pub situated right at the foot of the tower brings a refreshing note to the landscape, otherwise void of other attractions- at least in December !

We reached it in a difficult day when the streets were covered with snow. I believe that it worthed the try, even if it was closed. It remind us of Hungary

Amazing view of Zemun and Danube river that stretches from the tower will make you remember this place..

Very nice place with a beautiful view over old Zemun and all the way to confluence of Sava and Danube. It is also called The Millennium Tower because it was built (together with 3 more towers in Austria-Hungary as border markers of their empire) to celebrate 1000 years of Hungarian presence in Europe. A little tricky to climb up for an XXL person because of the narrow stairs but its worth it. Inside are also a gallery, and a small souvenir shop. Just beside the tower (on the left) you can have a drink in a small cafe with good choice of imported beers, or eat at a restaurant (on the right) with huge terrace and continue to enjoy the view. Just behind the tower is a cemetery you should also pay a visit.

It was built by the Hungarians, also called the Millennium Tower, to mark the thousand years of the Hungarians in this region because of the Zemun until 1918 was part of

Standing on the Hill above Danube river - Gardoš tower offer to each visitor an unique experience and view to whole western part of Belgrade, as well as confluence of Danube and Sava. Below Gardoš you may find some really nice taverns with Serbian domestic food and Rakia brew.

Definitely worth the trip out to Zemun. I walked along the river and it was an intersting piece of architecture. A mix of different styles and beautifully crafted
