This ethno village is located on the top of the hill. Excellent choice, whether they decide to stay the night here or stop by for lunch or a drink. Excellent rooms and suites, pool, great views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The perfect food.

A cosy place with very clear feelings of sadness about lost Yugoslavia. Very much understandable. Funny names of houses (portrait of Fedor Mikhailovich Distoevsky on one of them), street of Federico Fellini, градский затвор with portrait of George Bush and Havier Solano... Worth visiting just to understand how much Balkan people suffered...

The village is a lot smaller than I expected. It's lovely, but through the pictures, the experiences of my family and friends, I have to say I've been expecting lot more. Maybe it's the season we've been in (October), so there wasn't many people and lot of the stores were closed, but all in all, did not leave superb impression. We had a lunch in the local restaurant. It did not have a lot of choice, as half of the meals were not in the offer, but what we had was excellent! The waiter was really nice and helpful.

Definitely worth to see this unique wooden village DRVENGRAD made by Emir Kusturica. If you are transit traveller, 5-6 hours is more then enough. You can visit cinema, go to church, can also swim in the pool, relax in sauna, or enjoy breathtaking view of mountains, drinking local Rakija, tasting huge varieties of Serbian food. Children can play in playground. Food and accomodation is bit overpriced but good. Be aware of waiters. They will try to cheat you, so ask and check your bill. Enjoy!

Although quite picturesque, the place is very small and can be toured in a matter of one hour. Quite disappointing as it is way off any major route. The abundance of time leaves quite some time for fine dining, but unfortunately there is none. The offer of the main restaurant is lacking (at least half of the meals was not available), but also quite poor in quality (both the veal, the beef stew and the grilled meat was terrible). The patisserie shop is also very poor in terms of quality. There are only a few things to see around the village - the famed "Šargan Eight", a narrow gauge railway which is quite picturesque and worth the time (the round trip is around 3 hours), and the recently opened "Andrić Grad", another Kusturica's project that is much more attractive than Mećavnik (about a 30min drive into Višegrad, just across the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Nothing too special here unless you are a big Kusturica fan. Some decent food, but was turned off by the Serbian nationalistic propaganda. The setting is quite beautiful and so are many of the buildings. Worth a stop, but I wouldn't spend the night.

It’s actually a small village owned by the famous film director Emir Kusturica. Very creativesmall town and hotel, the apartments are houses that are actually in the streets that bear the name of movie heroes. Nice place!

Mećavnik (Drvengrad or Kustendorf), nice cluster of wooden buildings were built by famous Serbian/Yugoslav movie director Emir Kusturica at the hill Mećavnik couple hundred meters away from narrow-gauge railway station Mokra Gora (Šargan Eight). There are several cafes and a restaurant, movie theater, souvenir shop and logging space. All buildings are constructed in traditional Serbian mountain style (stone and wood). There is a small selection of old-timer cars from communist era. You'll enjoy the view at the Šargan mountain and pitoresque tourist narrow-gauge railway Šarganska osmica. Kusturica made one of his most romantic movie Život je čudo (Life is a Miracle) on nearby locations; in fact this movie gave him an idea to build Mećavnik.Twenty five kilometers away, just across Serbian/Bosnian border there is another Kusturica's development, Andrićgrad in small town Višegrad, named by famous Serbian Nobel prize writer Ivo Andrić, author of the novel "The Bridge on the Drina".Nice place for one day visit, not far from two very interesting tourist destinatins, mountings Tara and Zlatibor.
