Apart from a series of steep steps down to the river below, Saklikent was an inspiring walk full of natural geological and botanical wonders of the region.Stops with excellent refreshment and toilet facilities are easily accessed along the river, adding to the pleasure of this very popular experience.I thoroghly enjoyed this exquisite walk, which is easy terrain and well serviced with amenities!Highly recommended!

A trip to the Saklikent Gorge gives your Turkish holiday a bit of variety. First of all it is usually cooler because you are protected from the sun's direct rays. Furthermore, it is a bit of an adventure as you have to cross a fast flowing cold water stream. Depending on the water levels, this should not be too onerous (particularly in summer), but a good pair of trainers which you are prepared to get soaked, makes all the difference. All in all, an interesting geological feature. We also visited another river bed in a canyon close by whichwas a bit more difficult to negotiate but had quite an impressive waterfall because on the day, the waterfall further up in the Saklikent Gorge had dried up.

A lovely place to spend a hot day lots of ice cold water , rafting and exploring , or relax in one of the shaded bars overall worth a visit .

Very nice walk between the cliffs in the sun. Sometimes not much space, but fantastic to go there. The water to the area is coming from the mountain, so very fresh (cold) but good in the heat

Visited Saklikent with a small group (4 adults, 8 teenagers) and was horrified by the numbers allowed to enter the gorge at the same time - hundreds. Remember some are going in and some coming back and the access up/down is often very small and rocky. So some people (old/young/with babies etc) were trying to climb up slippery rocks in cold water, or come down the same way. I gave up and went back for a coffee.

Been there a couple of times. A must to visit if your on holiday and fancy a day out. Various excursion shops do good deals on this trip ,so shop around for the best deal

We did this as a family day trip. Our kids are 8 and 17 both really enjoyed it. We walked up thru the canyon, the water was absolutely freezing. Do not wear flip flops! The water is quite challenging to walk thru. People losing their shoes all over the place. lunch was in a lovely location up the hill, the kids loved it. Would definitely recommend this trip. We also stopped at a huge carpet shop for tea & climbed up to some beautiful ancient ruins

Take a break from the beach and have a wonderful day out. Get there early as it can get busy by lunchtime and get to restaurant early for lunch. Take a guided trip well wort it. Dont were flip flops in flowing water you will loose them.

Theres no doubt the gorge is lovely and we did the right thing by not going on a organised bus tour, arriving at the same time as everyone else. We had hired a car so got there later in the afternoon when it was getting a lot quieter...most people were leaving. We walked into the gorge where a young guy sorted us out with safety hats and proceeded to lead us into the gorge (wasn't very good at answering any questions tho). I thought that we must need someone to guide us for safety reasons, but as I looked round I realised that others were just making their own way (we are in our 50s but fit and active). I asked him whether he charged for this service and he admitted that we had to pay him. I think it was supposed to be 50tl?. Luckily he'd only been with us about 5 minutes so I just said we didn't need him...which we didn't. Watch out for this!. Enjoyed the rest of the gorge on our own. Had a bit to eat by the river when we got out...food was ok but was nice to sit right by the water.

great guide, great scenery, great day!very hot day so was lovely to walk across the river (which is quite forceful, so if a bit unsteady its not safe) in the somewhat freezing water!sitting on the floating seats to peoplewatch and have an icecream is a must!
