I like its green meadows, its deferent sorts of hudge trees, birds singing, a lot of paths and banches near lakes specally during summer season, and also our beautiful ZOO placed in Maksimir Park!!

It's a huge reason to love Zagreb because it's a really beautiful and peaceful park which is very large and where you can lose track of time while walking. The Pavillion of Echoes is located inside park and definitely a must see.

I really like Maksimir, and I am so sad because we don't have nice ZOO. Maksimir is amazing for relaxing, walking and driving with bike. I go there with my friend, with bike, and we always try to find something new. There are many little lakes that I adore. The best thing about Maksimir is Vidikovac, you can sit there, have a coffee and enjoy the view.

Located by the pride of Zagreb, the stadium of the football club Dinamo, this park is easily accessible. Having visited it during Christmas, we didn't expect to see many passers-by; however, we were in for a surprise. In a short period, the park got lively with locals who adore jogging and taking their kids and pets for a walk in this nature haven. The park was constructed in the 19th century so there are beautiful buildings to be seen, like the Swiss House, the Gazeebo (both of which are cafés now), and the Restaurant Maksimir. There are also four lovely lakes around with plenty of ducks and swans, as well as a zoo. If you are in need of some fresh air, being surrounded by greenery, this is the place.

Maksimi park is great place to visit. You can feel a lot of emotions there if you are with your partner. I engaged my girlfriend there, and I will go there again, because Maksimir is my love place now.

This park has very long history and had been elected one of the most beautiful parks in Austro-Hungarian Empire long ago. Nowadays, inhabitants of Zagreb and its visitors enjoy walks and jogging among several lakes among which it is impossible to hear any of modern city's noise. Kids are amazed by the beauty of exotic animals in the ZOO within the park.

Maksimir is single handedly the only reason why I like being in Zagreb. It's kind of amazing that a park like this can exist so close to the city center and is so accessible. It's great for running, because you get a little bit of everything: paved paths, trail, gravel, dirt, elevation changes, zig zagging routes. It's really the best escape this city has to offer.

Quiet, relaxing, in dimmer mode at evenings, good for running, riding a bike or just walking a dog. Takes some time to walkthrough huge maksimir wood.

I went to this Park. It was nice, but if you have short time in Zagreb do not go because it is just a normal big park as many cities in the world have.

The nicest park I have ever visited :) It is huge and you can have walk there or sit on a bench and relax. Do not miss very nice zoo which is a part of this amazing park.

I firmly believe that if you want to get the gist of a city, the places to go to are local cafés and parks. Finding where people spend a sunny Sunday afternoon will most certainly help you indulge into a city "properly", whatever that notion entails. Maksimir is a bit removed from the center of Zagreb and probably one of the largest city parks I have ever seen. And while it is crowded with people it is also huge enough so that you can walk around and get lost. You might find yourself accidentally entering that zoo inside and retreat backwards as you cannot handle ten children screaming at a traumatized grizzly bear. You might also find some Jehova's witnesses try and involve you in one of their God talks. Or you find woodpeckers at work. And not least thousands of people strolling around peacefully, enjoying their day off. Or you just get lost walking around in the forested "backyard" of this Habsburg green gem, stumbling across tree roots and fishing rods. But please go and take a deep breath here. This place is really worth it.

This place has great home style cooking for a good price in a great atmosphere! Don't be in a big hurry and enjoy the local relaxation! It is quite the pleasant place to relax or exercise!
