Sozopol is located on the place where a few civilization stamped, A lot of items were found. Most of them are present in museum. Visit museum. Fare is 8 lev for adults and 3 for children. Half of expositions are dedicated to the period of V-III centuries BC

Loads of great objects on display that can take you through the area's rich archaeological past. Fun for any history buff and even for people who are not so keen on history. They occasionally have classical concerts there which are quite great - try and catch one during the Apollonia festival late August and early September.

This museum is not huge for an archaeological site it the displays are nice and the material is varied. Took about 45-60 minutes to see...worth a look

That's one of the richest local museums I've visited in Bulgaria. Yes, it still has the feel of communist architecture due to the outlook of the building, but try to ignore that and give it a try.

Visited here as part of an organised trip. To be honest not too impressed. All the exhibits seemed to be just pottery found locally. Toilet facilities very poor. No toilet paper in ladies toilet and if it wasn't for a kind lady from another tour handing out tissues the ladies would have had problems. Staff not too friendly and seemed as though the wished we were jot there so they could get on with their chatting to each other. Some of the narratives in other languages, but mainly Bulgarian, making it difficult to understand what the artifact was about.

I visited this museum in July 2014. The staff on the door were more interested in talking among themselves than attending to any tourists ( it would be a great job if it wasn't for the customers ). The exhibits were very mediocre. There was a glass case with what appeared to be the skeleton of a man which had no English translation showing , and to this moment I have no idea what it was about.

I was really impressed by the pottery on display - it's amazing what they could produce 4 or 5 centuries BC. We don't seem to have made that much progress really. The museum is housed in a wonderful building too. I particularly liked one label which told me I was looking at 'stuff' from a Greek tomb!

Unfortunately closed exactly in weekends. The same situation with the Etnographic Exhibition. Also the Arts Gallery is closed now.

Clean, some interesting and very old exhibits, information boards on the walls. But the staff sit outside chatting so no one to ask if you want more information about the area.

In the old town, nearby an open-air auditorium at Han Krum square, you’ll find the museum. The style is the typical one from the socialist times, trying to mix a brutalist modernism with the vernacular architecture of the place. The fee is not expensive and there isn’t any charge for taking pictures of the exhibition.Inside you will find many artefacts, mostly dating to the Greek times when the city was founded. It is not a big exhibition space but is well organized and the collection presented is good enough to be worth of a visit.

Very well aranged, with lots of artefacts dating back to 5-6000 years ago. It is air conditioned, clean and every artfact is decribed in thee languages.

It's only a few lev to get into the museum but an interesting distraction for an hour or two. Recently renovated and very old, third century.
