castle ruins at kryvche

At one time this ridge in the town of Kryvche in the Ternopil Oblast must have housed a castle or a fortress but unfortunately all that remains are two of its’ towers and a small part of a wall. They are in remarkably good condition considering the rest of the structure is gone. It appears that they might be doing some restoration work as one of the towers has what looks like a reasonably new roof. There is a great view from the ridge to the valley below, which is probably the reason for building on this site in the first place; the one side would have been unscalable. The town of Kryvche is also the location of the Crystal Caves, so both can be done in a couple of hours if you are in this area.
