This site is stunning ! It is definitely worth a visit as part of a tour but I would not travel 3 hours from Mendoza just to see it . We took a guided tour with Argentina4U called Alta Montana Day tour that included many other sites . The Puente del Inca was the most striking site though ! For $42 US , it was a good deal

After hearing so much about this place, we just had to see it. The journey there was long but defiantly worth every mile we put in. The sight makes you wonder how it was in the past. Pity we didn't get there before 2005 as one could have gone a bit closer to it. But still we were definitely amazed. If you got the time then do the journey.... Won't be disappointed.

I really wanted to see this geological feature as I had read about it in the guide books and the pictures looked great. Unfortunately when you finally arrive (long drive from Mendoza!) you can't cross the river to explore, just look at it from a distance and take photographs. The place is very touristy and lots of vendors selling all kinds of stuff.

It is a great little attraction you must see to fulfill your curiosity. It is a natural arch that forms a bridge over the Vacas River, a tributary of the Mendoza River. We visited it with a group of geologists and paleontologists and everybody had different theory regarding its origin and dating. Of interest might be that Darwin visited this place during his exploration of Andes. There is still an old spa near the bridge, the ruins of a hotel and an old church. On your way from the parking lot you can visit the souvenir stalls.

This is a nice place to stop on the way to Chile. The stores sell local clothing and different kind of rocks. There is also some food available depending on the time of the year (winter time has fewer visitors). Take a few pictures, check the stores, and get on the road again. The road is the highlight of this trip.

We planned on a quick stop and ended up spending almost an hour here. The Inca's Bridge natural formation was worthy of some serious photos. I loved the art on the old building by the river and the mural of Darwin's visit outside the building near the restrooms. There were rows of vendor stalls as we walked down to the river eye. Courteous and reasonable, they had things like quartz eggs--perfect for a simple take-home present. We had a quick sandwich and drink at the little outside restaurant. Food hit the spot.

i'm not sure this is my idea of a destination but it made a great stop on our journey to the chilean border. we went to the viewpoint to see aconcagua mountain (tallest in south america) and came back. stopped at this bridge-neat deposits and natural hot springs-and at the ski resort along the way. great scenery and a nice way to spend a lazy driving day.

Vale a pena conhecer.
