You can bet what I say. Cerro Campanario is better. You go up there and you really can see the 360 round view with all the lakes, with all those mountains. We were there in summer and to add the day was astonoshing sunny and nice/clean. So our view was super green and the lakes looked like they were painted in that canvas called view....very nice indeed.

as you walk around town take a stop to see the church for 15 minutes but if you miss it don't feel bad as it is nothing too special. The architecture is similar to the civic center but nothing too spectacular inside to see.

The interior of this church was particularly pleasing. The Stations of the Cross are one of 2 most creative sets we have seen anywhere in the world. Stop, sit, look around and be treated, without the oft-seen gaudy, gold finishes in too many churches around the world (Porto, Portugal being the 'gold-medal' winner in this category).

This cathedral is situated fairly close to Centro Civico and a short block from Mitre Ave. It is quite tall and striking, with a high interior (as churches do.) It's right next to the lake and you can see locals and tourists alike hanging out in the park in front of, and behind the church. I will say my favourite view of the church was not next to it, but a short hike away up a slope to another church (Capilla la immaculada, which has now unfortunately burnt down.) If you follow up Beschedt, go up a small staircase, and turn back towards the cathedral, you can see the whole thing, backgrounded with the lake behind it. Very striking.

The cathedral is quite majestic and is definitely worth a visit if you're in Bariloche. Although build last century it is gothic in style so can be quite deceptive. Beautiful location with views across the lake.

If you are in the town of Bariloche, it is worth taking a look inside the Catedral (Cathedral) It is situated very nicely across from the lake and reminds me of a grand old lady.

The beautifully crafted internal settings and the grand outlook and structure of the cathedral have undoubtedly matched up to its reputation as the landmark of Bariloche.

Before you go up the cableway, check that the next chairlift is operating. If the wind is strong, it is unlikely that it will be running so don't go up.After you get off the chairlift, there is an easy walk to the summit... and what a treat awaits you!

It is nice to stop and visit the cathedral for those interested in history and architecture. If you can go with a local guide you will learn more about the church and the city.

Nothing special (or old) as churches go, but worth a look inside if you're passing by. Set in a nice little park with a view of the lake.

The windows are worth coming to look at in this unrefined space. It will calm your spirit to clear your mind. The view across the lake is also quite lovely. If you are lucky, the Father will let you go to the top of the cathedral for a city view.

Do not miss the stations of the cross! We have seen none better. This cathedral is a gothic church built in the 20th century. Because it has no side chapels along the nave, the height of the church seems to soar. However, the best parts of the church are the carved stations of the cross. These are unpainted and were were done by a man who was either an orphan or else was abandoned as a small child. He grew up poor and he taught himself to carve. The 14 Stations are both traditional but also show aspects of modern life. Mother Theresa is one of the women who greet Christ., for example. On another station, World War II soldiers make up part of the crowd. The church has odd opening hours and one never knows if it closes at 4 pm or opens at 4 pm but if you can manage to get in, do not miss the Stations of the Cross. We have seen many examples and this group is our favorite...over those in Europe and eastern Europe, those in North America and others in South America.

We arrivedin bariloche in full spring, but one day the temperatures went down and we had snow, the day after the sun came out and we went up to the cerro to have fun and enjoy with our kids.... It was a fantastic outing with an extraordinary view.

Situated quitely on the side of the main street and the lakes to the other side looking at the Andes in the distance, one cannot help but feel drawn in by the surrounds. I sat on a large rock inthe car park for what seems an eternity just gazing across the lake as tyhe mists and fog slowly hid the cests of the Andes in the distance. When I was finally rested, I explored the cathedral which was small by comparitiuve standards however I was made more than welcome and enjoyed pleasantries with the local minister.

We always visit the main church of the city where we stay, and the Catedral de San Carlos de Bariloche is worth a short visit. The inside is well preserved and in nice conditions. Go there to get at grip of the development of the area.
