I loved this lake. I visited the beach that is closest to town and even though is not that beautiful as the other one (as I heard), it is a very nice place. The water was warmer compared to the lake in Pucón so you could stay there forever. There are kayaks to rent and even a fair on the beach were you can buy souvenirs.

Small village over the lake. First beach is crowded in summer, excellent empanadas and some craftwoorks stalls and restaurants. A lot of families on the beach.Playa blanca (white beach) is 2km far walking on the left side of the lake and a much more beautiful beaches area (local bus runs until here actually).nice small restaurants with fair prices faces this beaches. Water is cold during summer and a sadow under a tree is a must.During winter the crowded spot becames empty and solitary, dark and cold looks misterious and sad.

We arrived at Playa Negra after our trip to Huerquehue very late in the afternoon. Due to this the beach was already very crowded and it seemed it needed a bit of cleaning. Bins were full to their capacity and people weren't taking their rubbish with them, which put us off but not enough to leave before trying the water. The temperature was great for a dip. Wish we would have arrived during the morning. There is a nice "feria artesanal" just next to the beach with fabulous kuchens made by the locals, cheap and delicious! Would come back but earlier in the day or explore other beaches in Caburga.

Playa Blanca was fabulous, it was worth cycling a little more round the lake to get to this beautiful quiet beach

I spent there the New Year's eve and it was one of the most beautiful and peaceful one. Amazing place, clean water, although chilli. Undoubtingly a place to know.

The place is great and has a full structure to receive tourists and families on fun days.It is crowded, though. If you want a place for privacy, look elsewhere, there's a lot of them.

Seemed dirty and too busy, we felt much better spending our time in Pucon. Wouldn't spend my time going there

We cycled here from Pucon and took the scenic root out there. It was a really tough cycle, but fun. The lake was pretty, not much going on in the town there. Cycle back was much easier, pretty much downhill all the way.

30 km north from Pucon, this lake has 2 usable beaches. The Black Beach has sand from volcanic origin and the White Beach, which color came from crystal rocks. You can swim or practice a number of water sports

Not much to do at Lake Caburga other than swim and walk along the beach. Very few nearby services. Parking is adequate if you come early enough during the high season

Beautiful little lake (and since the earthquake getting smaller) in scenic setting with yellow sand beach, about 30 minute drive from Pucon, or regular buses. Much quieter than Pucon. Food and drink available at cafes on beachfront. Sun umbrellas, chairs and loungers for rent.

Too cold to swim but perfect for catching rays. Negative is that it's beach is volcanic ash so you have to rent a chair to be comfortable.

It is the volcano and not the lakes that draws tourists to Pucon. Lago Caburgua is pretty but does not even come close to what you'll find at Volcano Villarica. The lake makes for a pleasant day out but do this only after you've had your full of the volcano. There are two beaches you can go to at Lago Caburgua - Playa Negra and Playa Blanca. The latter is more scenic and where the majority of beach goers end up at. Bus Caburgua (the station is two blocks from the tourist center in downtown Pucon) brings you from Pucon to Lago Caburgua for about 800 pesos (30 minutes).

The lake is beautiful and slightly warmer than the others for swimming. Best to go on a sunny day though.
