Morere is today what Boipeba old town was probably like 10-15 years ago. A small village with sand streets and a few nice pousadas ( and one swanky hotel) right next to the most amazing beaches you could expect to find off the coast of Brazil. Only things missing are surfing waves but instead you have a coral and amazing snorkeling in sea pools. We stayed for several days on our honeymoon. We had done little research before hand except to discover that this is not a place that is visited by many as it is not that easy to get to. We suggest going after the Carnival when low season starts. At New Year and December and January it is over-flowing and to be avoided. You can eat very well at one of several restaurants or bars although much seems to close down after Carnival. We saw there are several amazing houses to be rented that are directly on the beach but these should be organised before you arrive. We came down by bus from Salvador which ended up being almost a whole day trip. We like the interaction on teh way in where you meet locals and other travellers but if you are pressed for time or prefer you can fly in for around 450 reals per person from Salvador. If you come in through Valenca which is teh normal way make sure you book teh speed boat and not teh other slower boats as even with teh speed boat it is a good 45 minutes to get to the island from Valenca. Once in Boipeba it is a 20 minute tractor ride to Morere or you can get motorcycle taxis for less and which are quicker (depending on how many you are). No crime to speak of and very friendly people. The highlight of our visit was walking with a local guide to Cova da Onca (2 hours through the forests), lunch in Vova, and a boat back that left us at a spot where we trekked through the mangrove forests (amazing) and walked back through two lovely beaches to Morere. Very nice place to come with kids. Has tides that are very important for getting around (good to print out tide times before hand). Access to reliable internet or wifi very difficult so do all your research before hand if possible (only reliable internet is in hotel Alizees).

the beach in morere is very different depending on the time. True swimming is hard as the water gets very low at times. The beach itself is not so beautiful. What bothered me most were the dogs who ran wild and peed and pooped in the sand......however one can do beautiful walks. I loved the mood even when it rained.

Its too beautiful for words! There are a few beaches there and natural swimming pools with most colourful fish, its only 40min walk from Boipeba along 4 beautiful beaches!

Absolutely beautiful! Guys, there's another world out there, away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Just a who short boat ride away this fishing village is a MUST when you visit Boipeba (locals even say you could do it on foot about 20 minutes, but make sure you go with a guide Morere has its own vibe and ambiance. I would say it is 'quieter'. A great day out with barbecued fish, rice and beans on the beach front.

Basically there are two ways to go to Morere beach. Either you take the tractor and turn left when you reach the beach, getting away from the Pousadas. Or you walk south from Cueira beach, cross the river (low tide only) and find the superb north end of Morere beach, on a curve, and lined with Amendoeira trees, large oval leaves, which are beautiful, great shade and a change when you're fed-up with the palm trees ;-)

Very peaceful and beautiful, almost desert in the midlle of a holiday. The water is clear and calm, perfect for relaxing

We chartered a slow boat from Boipeba out to Morere. The captain let us out in the shallow shore - no better way to arrive in paradise! Had a wonderful day sunning on the beach, and hanging in the shade of the palm trees! On the boat ride back, our captain stopped at the Natural Pools and let us get out to snorkel. This was one of my favorite days of the trip!

Very nice village, more preserved as more isolated. One very good restaurant which name I forgot :)

Cueira is the better option of the beaches depending on where you are staying. We stayed at Pousada Mangabeiras and so Cueira was always the better option and I thought the better beach.
