I may a little biased sionce this is the beach in Florianopolis to which I come year after year for the last seven years. However, it is a place not only visit but, specially, to stay for a week, at least. These 1,500 yards of white sand, cove like beach is wonderful for all your senses. The wonderful waves, the transparente waters, the forest on both sides, the elegante condos and the distance from the noisy bustling Florianópolis city center and the other crowded beaches makes of Praia Brava de island. within the island. There are a small supermarket at the south end of the main and only avenue and some food tents on the beach that can serve your during the summer months (December until the end of Febraury). On the other months thigs are stil quieter and you will depend on Lagoinha and Ponta das Canas for acquiring your food.

This used to be an almost deserted beach with just a few vacation houses 15 years ago (it was my favourite beach back then, especially in the winter), now it is so developed I would not have recognized it! Still, a nice beach, with good surf when the swell is right and possibility to rent a surfboard (there are about 4 tents on the beach - the boards are not in best shape but ok), which is rare in Florianopolis. By the way, if there are no waves and you are not the designated driver, the caipirinha (de cachaça) is 10 R$ and it is 700ml ;-) very good value for money! Have fun!

This beach is very interesting for surfers due to its very strong winds, but it does lack some infrastructure since the area is flooded by upscale buildings and almost no places to stop by and eat. Also, there is not much movement on it, so it is quite a good place to sit and relax without being bugged by anyone.

The praya is just in front of a number of closed condominiums. There is no real infrastructure like restaurants or bars near by. .

Great beach with a beautiful landscape. Very exclusive and good for sports such as surf and para gliding

Good ambience. Beautiful people. Excellent if you like big waves. See not suitable for small children.

Nice and beautiful beach with clear water, white sand. Also good for surf.

Nice views and waves. Too many people. The place has been ruined by reckless building of condominiums and apart hotels.

on this deplorable island which offers nothing but high prices and pitiful places. when it s not raining (and it rains more than in england, really!!!) locals will try to rip you off with 30 us pizzas and 4 buck beers. okay back to the beach. far away , and less low class people. very windy but nicer than all the rest. if you have to kill some tiime have a look at this beach. nice ! but not enough for more than 3 points

Praia Brava is very interesting not only as a beach scenery but also as an architectural and urban planning solution. The site, located at the northeast most point of the Island of Santa Catarina, is divided by a wide avenue that separates two groups of pretty large condominiums: some that are beach front and others touch the rain forest on the hills that surrounds Praia Brava. However, no one is more than 200 yards from the beach. The waves are strong here (thus the name Brava), the sand very white and the view is absolutely beautiful. January is when tourists flock into Praia Brava, specially Argentineans, to rent flats and apartments in the condos (between US$130 to US$350 a day). During this period there is plenty of young people and a great amount of activities going on on the beach (shows, parties, etc.). Thus, January is not a month to rest, since Brava is in action day and night. Its excellent and fashionable bars/restaurants offer a reasonable option of tropical drinks and good food for the young crowd that occupies their tables and spaces on the sand. Besides, beach vendors complement ones diet or beach needs with all kinds of articles, from pina-colada through gorgeously embroidered cotton hammocks. So, this is all perfect for those who appreciate summer noise and complicate traffic (do not try to get to or leave from Brava between 10 am through 6 pm). I, on the other hand, prefer Praia Brava on its calmer months: December, March and April (the rest of the year maybe a little too windy or too cold) when all is quiet and you can take time on your own. However, you will be better off if you have a rented car.

Essa foi a melhor e mais bonita praia que visitei em Floripa, juntamente com a Mole. A paisagem é linda.

A praia é excelente, mar verdinho, lindo! Surfistas aproveitam algumas boas ondas.
