Even though the garden was well kept and clean, the plants were not marked nor were the paths. It was easy to get lost; we had to use a compass to find our way out. Bathrooms are difficult to find and are not very clean. Parking was terrible (especially since we were there on a Saturday).

We made the journey by taxi with a one year old.Big gardens. The entry fee was very cheap free for under 5s and over 60s. Very attentive staff .There is a good green house with desert plants leading to jungle ones and a good quantity of bromeliads. Most of these plants were classified by Jose Celestino Mutis four centuries ago. There are good toilets. We only had time for the rose garden and the green house but there is also a butterfly garden. The wax palms (Colombia's National Tree) were very impressive. It was difficult to push the buggy through the stone paths.Fascinating amount of exotic plant life but could have done with more explanations and more investment done on it.

We had visited the museums that we wanted to especially see in Bogotá, and since it was a Monday, (We would have gone to other museums from our "second list" but all of them were closed.) we decided to spend some time in the Jardín Botánico. Being a work/school day, the garden was almost empty of other visitors. It is a large expanse of land, and much appreciated, I'm sure, to the people of the city. I would say the arrangements and cleanliness of the garden were average to good. There is a café off to the side of the entrance/ticket area. Some of us were Seniors (60+) so there was no entrance fee.

A great place to see the colombian flora, lots of beautiful colourful flowers, native trees and if you are lucky a great art exhibition. Bring a sandwich as is not a coffee area in the gardens and I am sure you would spend lost of time there

This 50 acre garden has hundreds of unique plants from both South America and around the world. The picture perfect climate is ideal for a visit anytime of year. Be sure to bring your camera because you will see things here that you will not see in so many other places.

Thought that this garden was super. Huge variety of plants trees and even humming birds. Some of the interpretation notices swing round and are in both English and Spanish. Hot houses quite good, particularly liked the cacti house. Cafe very well appointed and reasonable, good breakfast. Taxi from Candela ria was 12,000 even though the meter read 15,000.

I saw many good comments from this garden but it wasn't the best experience. It needs more signs to let the visitors know where we're able or not to transit. This is mentioned because we entered a place where none told us is not for visitors. It was supposed to have 7 greenhouse but I didn't saw any. Also we saw flowers but we expected more flowers! Roses are good and nice. Price is affordable but need signs ASAP!

Bogota botanical garden is a reasonable size park ( according to notices about 20 k square meters to me it looked smaller ) which provides busy city dwellers with a quiet and peaceful surroundings . They have quite a few of the impressively high "palma de cera " normally to be seen only in the Valle del Cocora , far away from Bogota . An interesting greenhouse with different sections presents a few samples of climates and asociated plants existing in Colombia . The rose garden is true to the reputation of Colombian roses .Now it is clear that the garden lacks resources : the butterfly greenhouse is closed, the gardening could be improved , most of the outside lamps are broken ( not a big deal as one visit at day light) And it does not seem they are doing much to get aditional ressources : entrance cost is very affordable, no boutique to sell botanical inspired objects, no sponsor to support some of the plants or sceneries ...I am not sure which entity is running that garden , but a bit more of management could help.

Fantastic and huge garden with an astonishing amount of plants and flowers from Colombia. Don't miss the greenhouse with its several climatic sections, learning about the incredible biodiversity of this beautiful country. Orchids are the top jewels!

you really are going to love this one. I spent about 3 hours wandering around here. It is just the right size; not too large, not too small.

The botanical garden is tranquil, well maintained and excellent value for money. Admission is 2,800 Colombia pesos (less than £1. Chldren cheaper and 60+ admission is free. There is a restaurant but we didn't try it.

Reminiscent of the NY Botanical Garden in the sense of a positive oasis in the middle of urban sprawl. Beautiful greenhouse filled with tropical plants that us Zone 7 people in the Northeast can only have in summer. Stunning Rose Garden, perennial beds, specimen trees. You walk the path that basically makes a circle, and you can cover it all. One improvement would be more labeling of the plants, as many were unmarked. We were here almost 90 minutes, and I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended, whether plant lover or not.

The gardens are very well kept and an excellent escape from the typical tourist attractions. A glass greenhouse provides a fascinating walk through multiple climates from Amazon jungle to desert. Just outside the greenhouse is the rose garden, with giant blooms in unbelievable bright colors. Absolutely worth the trip.
