Should your travels bring you to the magnificent Sate of Quindio , do not miss the opportunity to spend your day here. This place has it all: beautiful gardens, lush forests, cable bridges, an observation tower, butterfly vivarium and an aviary. I HIGHLY recommend hiring a private tour guide ( you are not allowed to roam the property without a guide) since the regulars tours can be large. Best time to see the butterflies in action are between 10 and - 1pm.

This place is well kept the plants are beautiful , the guided visit is well done. The butterfly place used to have more butterflies but it is still quite nice. The shop is good too. Worth the visit.

It is worth going to this garden. It is beautiful and they have nice attractions like the Birds Observatory and the Mariposario. Good effort from the garden to keep this going.

This is one of the biggest, if the not the biggest, butterfly museums in the world! There are hundreds of different species, all of whom will come land on your hand, if you offer it. Just lick your finger! Well-informed docents are happy to answer your questions

This was the nicest of all the trips we made during our visit to the zona cafetera. First you walk through the most amazing forest watching the most beautiful trees and nature, and listening to the birds. The guide is also telling you the story of all the things you see and a lot of interesting facts. You can see a lot if birds and butterflies. Then, you get to a tower from where you can see the whole park and at last but not least, you get to the "mariposario" where you can see hundreds of butterflies flying around and they even lay all over you. It is an amazing place, it doesn't sound much like it is but I assure you it is totally worth it.

We took a local bus from Armenia and this Jardin & Mariposario is a stop on their route. You pay a fee to get in and have to take the guided tour. The tours are only in Spanish. The tour guide takes you on a very interesting tour and stops at many viewing posts - one is a bird watching quiet zone, another is up stairs to a viewing platform to see the tree canopy and a view of the butterfly house, there is a hummingbird feeder area, a Guadua growing "forest" and other informative displays as well. Worth visiting to learn more about plant life and botany. The butterfly house was a bit of a disappointment, as there were very few varieties there, but the rest of the jardin is worth the visit.Only wish they had let us walk around independently. Very good enthusiastic guide.

El jardín botánico de Calarcá es la réplica excelentemente concebido de un bosque natural con una gran colección de árboles de la región, animales silvestres, pájaros y mariposas. El ambiente que se vive en cada recodo del sendero es de paz y armonía que invitan a la relajación y el disfrute de la vista y los olores. El acompañamiento es pausado e ilustrado con historias y referencias pero sin atropellar las imágenes fantásticas que se viven a cada paso del recorrido.

El jardín botánico del Quindio, es un bosque que se resiste al crecimiento urbano en estos pueblos cafeteros. Allí, aún se encuentran árboles que superan en altura edificios locales y en belleza a la obra del mejor arquitecto. Contamos con la compañía de una guia, que más bien parecía una contadora de historias. Cada planta, cada ave, cada mariposa, la inspiraba para compartir relatos y anécdotas. En un momento, sentados bajo un gran árbol, nos inspiro con un cuento que nos movió el corazón. Recorrer estos senderos es magnifico en compañía de un buen guia. Cuanto aprendí, cuanto disfrute, como me emocione en la naturaleza Quindiana.

Si quieres entender por qué el lugar es tan bello visialmente hay que ir al jardin botanico. Con la entrada se da un tour guiado y la verdad vale la pena conocer sobre la flora y fauna de la region. Lo mejor es el mariposario, hay un sin fin de mariposas hermosísimas. Si tienes suerte las verás volar. Parece un sueño.

Es un sitio encantador. El contacto con la naturaleza, con los aves, con el aire puro es genial. Nos acompañó en el recorrido de grupo un guía excelente y muy amable que nos explicaba todo lo relacionado con el bosque y los animales. Una caminata muy ecológica para disfrutar. Se ve todo muy organizado, limpio y seguro. Hay varios espacios tipo museo. El mariposario es de lo mejor. Recomiendo llevar repelente. En un primer intento llegamos a las 2:00 pm pero nos recomendaron visitar el jardín de mañana para aprovechar mejor el recorrido que dura aprox 2:30 hrs. Si iniciábamos a las 2:00 pm sólo podíamos durar 1:30 hrs por algunas limitaciones con las aves y las mariposas. Plan super recomendado. Pueden en la mañana ir a este Jardín, e ir en la tarde a Recuca, antes pueden almorzar en el restaurante Pollo a la Carreta que queda sobre la vía con una comida exquisita.

een aanrader, het leukste is om met een gids te gaan, hij wijst je op allerlei bijzonderheden die je zelf misschien over het hoofd ziet. de tuin heeft een enorme diversiteit aan planten en bomen, maar ook een mooie plek om ( achter glas) vogels te spotten. verder een mooie vlindertuin en een tuin waar veel kolibries te vinden zijn. Erg leuk.

a casi media hora de Armenia, se encuentra el Jardín Botanico, por 17000 COP se paga la entrada, con derecho a un guía, el cual explicara absolutamente todo sobre las especies de plantas nativas y carnivoras que se encuentran en el lugar, el mariposario es un lugar maravilloso con multiples mariposas de muchos colores y excelente vegetación, el mirador y demas, sencillamente un buen lugar para volver.
