This a true landmark of Colombia. Such a magic place that has to be visit with the intention to get tired of walking while sightseen one of the most beautiful views ever :)

If you want privacy and snorkeling it's an ok beach. Basic services close by. In my opinion not worth the trip at all.

Parque Tayrona is a beautiful place that has been negatively impacted by tourism. Various vendors including those who rent donkeys and horses and sell food, shelter and other services have made the park too junky. These businesses in combination with the number of visitors have overrun the park and so it seems much less attractive than it might have been with better management. It is time consumming to visit the park and I question whether or not it's really worth the effort. Someone else commented that compared to other parks such as Parque Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica, it does not seem that spectacular.

Beautiful, unspoilt and diverse nature. Worth spending at least two nights here! Lots of options to stay at different parts, some quieter than others.

Beautiful beach. Really authentic. The only classical Caribbean beach in the area. And the best is that there are no sellers and a very few people. Enjoy!

We went to Parque Tayrona after doing the lost city hike expecting a nice relaxing experience but it was anything but that. We took the boat from Taganga and arrived around noon. It was really hot and we all walked to the reception area only to be told that we could not check in until 2pm. So then we walked back to the beach to wait. The beach by the restaurant has lots of flies but we sucked it up so we could check in. At 2 pm we got to reception to find a huge line of people. So we waited in line for an hour in the middle of the day heat which made no sense. Then we were told that they were out of hammocks (which have no Mosquitos nets by the way) so we had to get a tent that was under the sun all day. Sleeping here was unbearably hot. We were on the beach at 530 am to get some air. People already had their backpacks on getting ready to get out of there. I wanted to have breakfast in the morning but a friend told me not to bother as there were already a ton of flies. Also, 4 bathrooms and 4 showers for over 200 people. They charge day trippers 500 cop to use the bathrooms but the person who checks (and they are strict) don't clean the toilets. Ever. You also need Id of some sort to check in. Passport copies are ok (we heard theft is an issue there). The camp turned away a family with a kid bec they didn't have it. The beach was nice in the morning. That's about it. If I had to do it again I would stay near arrecifes - the camps looked so much better. We saw them as we walked out. Spend the day at cabo San Lucas or la piscina and then go sleep elsewhere. The camps we stayed at during the lost city hike were 100 times better than cabo San Juan. Hope this helps, I wish I would have known all this before going.

There are various amazing beaches with some more secluded than others. Its around a 30 minute walk through jungle to get there but is well worth it!

Very beautiful national park. We had a great walk from the entrance to Cabo San juan and back. We had wanted to walk to El Pueblito, but that proved a bit much for one day. We were sorry that we didn't have time for an overnight stay.

There's More than one beach in the park. The one we went to wasn't anything special. There's lots of tents (carpas) along the beach, which take away the potential wilderness look from it. Motorboats take off from this beach and after a 10 minute ride leave you on a small beach from where you can go snorkeling. Coral reefs are very small. If you have seen coral before, there is nothing worthwhile seeing. Guides only give you a mask, and force you to use life jacket. So you cannot actually do snorkeling. Conclusion: find out before you go which beach you're going to be taken too.

If you stay at the Arecifes Beach in any of the lodgings there, don't eat at El Paraiso lodging.the food there might be cheap (compared to Yuluka lodging/restaurant,)but it's terrible.and the kitchen and place there is dirty.we had spaghettis there and what they served has Nothing in comon with that, nor anything else.stay away, and either cook yourself dinner or go to one of the others .and the staff don't even bother if you want to eat there or not..
