We took the tour lead by Pablo, a master coffee picker turned tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Then Jorge, the owner, presented the final stage of the tour including coffee tasting and preparation. His overall attitude and disposition made for a great time. The entire staff is super friendly and helpful and the facilities are very nice. Food was delicious. If you can, I recommend you stay the night , as well as take the tour. top notch

I can only confirm what´s been written about the place so far! The scenary was breath-taking, and the coffee amazing. We started out with a cup of coffee and had a three hour long tour of the farm. Our guide Jonathan was a local kid who was learning english but managed to make everything quite understandable. The other people at the farm were very polite and genuine, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We only stayed for a tour and lunch, the latter equally amazing. Highly recommendable regardless your knowledge of coffee!

Four of us travellers spent a lovely time being educated about the delights of great coffee at this working coffee farm. The staff were very polite, attentive, and happy to welcome us. This was a hands-on experience...at one point we did a very small amount of picking which was fun. Our guide was friendly and was understandable speaking very basic English. There was some walking involved through the coffee plants and bamboo trees. We decided to stay for lunch (for an extra cost ) which was totally delicious. There was many different birds to be seen which delighted the bird watcher in our group. We were able to buy top quality coffee which had just been produced days before. A must do for the coffee lover! We all enjoyed the experience very much and highly recommend! If staying for lunch, estimate 3+ hours.

The hacienda is located outside of the town chinchina. But the few kilometers outside are def. Worth it! If you want to enjoy the real feeling of being completely in the coffeezone, you should go there! The owners are very helpful and organize everything you wish for. They also show you around and explain all the fruittrees and birds! The food is good, the breakfast and homemade juices delicious! If you want to spend a few quiet days in a wonderful nature, this is the place to go!

We had the most amazing time at Hacienda Guayabal Coffee Plantation. The staff were just amazing they put such effort in the the coffee plantation tours and find ways to personalize the tours for each tourist and don't rush through anything. The food was just delicious and the chef even put a little Irish flag on our table for each meal. The accommodation was just beautiful and very spacious. For Peso90,000 we got one nights accommodation, breakfast, dinner and lunch and the tour. I think this was very good value for what we received. The staff also provided great directions from Bogota and organised our transport onwards to Medellin. I really can't recommend this place enough, the whole experience was just fantastic.

We spent four days and nights at Hacienda Guayabal and were quite simply amazed with the reception we received. Each meal was beautifully prepared and presented. The entire staff and family were warm and inviting. Most nights we were the only ones staying at the hacienda so of course received their undivided attention. We have visited coffee farms in Nicaragua and Panama and each time were impressed with their knowledge and instruction but the coffee tour at Hacienda Guayabal went even further. They cater to small groups so the tours are intimate with lots of time for questions and answers. Then try an espresso in their cafe and you will know the meaning of great coffee.Their location set on a cloud forest mountain slope looking out across the valley at other farms is something you won't get tired of. You can walk the hillside trails, cross or even walk up two different creeks through bamboo forests all while watching the many different bird species on the farm. The best birding area is right around the main house and gardens and at least five active feeders. The rooms are fine although certainly not five star. Typical of many small accommodations the beds are satisfactory but a bit "lumpy". Given that everything else is so wonderful this is easily shrugged off. In a word or three, don't miss it!

The passion for coffee, and the hands on explanation from Jorge was refreshing. The history of coffee through to present day was well worth listening to. The tour of the Hacienda following from seed to harvest and through the processing was very good. The view is breathtaking, birds are abundant, integration of the coffee with bananas, plantain, oranges, bamboo, cacao and other complimentary trees was great to experience. Questions were welcome whether they had to do with coffee or not. If you can you should include at least lunch, the trout was tops. Our only regret is that we didn't know that they offer over night stays or we would have stayed a night.

No queríamos irnos!
