这个地方真是太神奇了,发人深省。他的画作既让人觉得有美感,同时又会让你内心激起波澜。这是我去过的最好的博物馆之一。唯一不好的事就是我的同伴在那的食品店吃了个奶酪肉馅卷饼后就有点食物中毒。

参观博物馆,这里绝对值得一游,甚至更棒的是,奥斯瓦尔德家在同一地方。周日(10--下午5点)免费,其他时间就是6美元。我周日去时还不知道免费,并且没感觉是很糟糕的繁忙。这有一个分开的博物馆和房间。在博物馆,我得到了全程英语的免费一游(短短的15分钟),更多的是自己逛了周围,总共花了30分钟。它不是很大。然后你会走到一个房子那里,你要跟着有导游的团队进去。旅程达大约45分钟,是西班牙语的。房子比博物馆更有趣,它本身就像个博物馆,充满了艺术品和他大多的宗教收藏。我希望我是自己游览房子而不是在一个团里(大约30人)但是我理解他们不想让人岁半在房子周围走。

博物馆中的艺术品和各种标志/信息条都很好,他确实是个既有天分的艺术家,但如果你想一直尊敬Guayasamin这个人的话,就不要进入他的房子了。房子里非常乱,看起来像是杂乱的储物间。里面有许多宗教作品和人物画像,还有大量的情色作品和各种撩人的姿势。这次旅程中冶听到了他的一些罪过和淫乱情史。我们导游说的东西让我有一种想自杀的感觉...他详细介绍每件事情,相信我,我确实喜欢细心的导游,但他光是将吉他就用了半个小时。我都崩溃了。他讲的神采飞扬,但很是无趣。更别提,什么历史上最崇高的社会主义者,他富甲一方,住的房子里随处可见各种无价之宝,然而他还是宣称为处在水深火热中的百姓而斗争。真实太长舌了...还讲了一些古巴领导人卡斯特罗的事情。客观点说,作品挺好,主题不错,但私生活太糟糕。

I'd never heard of Oswaldo Guayasamín before visiting Quito. His work is powerful, and the venue is really world class.

La capilla del Hombre is a must visit while in Quito. It shows only Oswaldo Guayasamin´s art in all their spaces. Great guided visit included. Also, good option for buying great ecuadorian art in place. Highly recommended. I have a painting at home from this place.

There is so much energy, so much passion and so much talent! Guayasamin indeed was a true genius. Going there was totally worth the expensive entrance fee.

Oswaldo Guayasamin takes in his art the struggle for freedom and dignity above class and religion! A must when in Quito! On top of that a visit to his home takes beyond imagination.

Definitely worth a visit. Guayasamin's work is powerful and is displayed in a wonderful, yet intimate museum. This is a place definitely worth visiting, especially if interested in local art.

La Capilla Del Hombre or Chapel of Man might appear at first to be a sacred place that honors mankind, but in reality it is a monument to the ego of Oswaldo Guayasamin. A building of fascist dimensions, it was built on top of an ancient archeological site with no respect to previous peoples or cultural expressions found on that site. Guayasamin is one of the most talented artists of Ecuador. Unfortunately his fame made him forget any trace of humility and distanced him from those victims of society who were the theme of his paintings.On a huge sterile wall in the chapel is written the phrase: "Keep the flame on until I return". I guess he believed in reincarnation. Will karma make him return as a member of the affluent Guayasamin family or as the janitor of the Capilla Del Hombre?

A tremendous experience in an incredible setting. Go there for the beauty and the opportunity to really get a feel for the oppression, racism, poverty and class division brought upon many throughout South America in the past centuries.
