denmark animal farm & pentland alpaca stud

We did a drive from Perth to Albany stopping off at as much as we could and this was undoubtedly the highlight! Great value for money and an animal lovers heaven. Plus we even got to hold the adorable joeys which was just an amazing experience.

An interesting little shop leads you through to the farm. A great time to visit is 3 pm feeding time. There are a variety of animals to be fed by bottles including the little Joey,great for the children.Lovely ,friendly staff enthusiastic about their animals,including hens and other birds.If you like animals an interesting place to visit and interact with them.

A nice animal farm to see Kangaroo and Koala - icons of Australia. The entrance fee includes a small bag of foods which you can feed some animals. Just read the sign to aware what animals you can feed or cannot.

My 24 year old daughter and I called into this farm on a whim and couldn't believe we were being asked if we wanted to hold a baby kangaroo....wow.... Yes we wanted to and the photos we have show us looking at them with such awe and love. Then we were asked if we wanted to and look around and come back in an hour to bottle feed them...... We felt so privileged and lucky it was a wonderful experience....... As was the chance to stroke a koala bear on the same day!!! Amazing - and thank you! I do however agree with a couple of other reviews and feel that this business has great potential and that it is under developed and under marketed as it is so much more that just alpacas. However, maybe it would lose the magic and spontaneity that we experienced if it were more commercialised. For us, this year it was great!

Hi Lauren,Thank you for visiting our farm. We actually have about 80 alpacas on our farm but it isn’t practical to have them all in our top paddocks, so most are grazing in the fields below and visitors are more than welcome to walk down to see them.We currently have 10 alpacas in out top paddocks, including 4 pregnant females that are due any day. Sorry you were just a bit too early to see our cute crias!Before opening every morning a great deal of time and effort goes into cleaning up animal dung, raking and making everything nice for visitors, but with so many animals there will always be some mess between cleanings! It was unfortunate that a goat got stuck in the fence. The safety and welfare of all our animals and visitors is of paramount importance to us, and I can assure you this is not a common occurrence, especially now with all our new fencing. Claire (the Irish girl that assisted the goat) said she helped it out promptly and it was 100% fine – no injuries. Ask anyone who has had anything to do with goats and they will attest to the fact that they can find mischief very easily and also have a very loud cry/bleat often for no reason. We usually stock a large range of alpaca garments and products, but our usual supplier has stopped trading and we are in the process of finding a new supplier. We hope to have more stock soon. The “Bali” items we sell in our shop started as a support to several worthy (but poor) Balinese families we have befriended over the years (Bali is very close to Western Australia). We buy direct from their shops and on-sell here and the products are very popular. They are humble, hardworking folk and our business makes a huge difference to them, so it is a Win-Win situation.

We took the kids here for a visit and it was great! Nothing like seeing the animals and getting back to nature :) lots of animals to see and pat and bottle feeding the babies at 3pm daily.I'd recommend getting there about 130 for a good look around before the animal feeding and definitely pack a jumper as a lot of the area is shaded and cool in the shade.Absolutely loved visiting this place, it was great as were the staff. Don't forget the camera!!

A wonderful place where the whole family can be hands on and be a farmer for a day. Feeding the farm animals from small to large. Great yards and a huge variety. Occasionally some of the livestock is for purchase. My kids love it and so do I. Don't miss this fun family outing rain or shine.

Took a trip to Denmark while we were at a farm stay in Pemberton, it was worth the trip for us as hubby, two kids and myself really enjoyed this little farm. Loved the interaction with the animals, the baby kangaroo was cheeky, wanting to play with my 4 year old son. The goats are hilarious, alpacas cool, I loved going in with all the bunnies and guinea pigs... Kids especially loved the baby animals, they were able to climb in and sit and play, and also feed them. Be prepared to get a little grubby, maybe wear gumboots ;) I found the staff to be friendly, the only disappointment was the café part wasn't open, they did have self serve coffee, but it would have been great to be able to sit for a bit of food and drink :) and they do need some decent soap near their sink to clean up LOL ;)

Will be honest as I pulled up did not have high hopes; however showed that I know nothing. It was a wonderful visit. My 5 yo son loved getting up close to the animals. The staff were lovely and very good with all the questions my son was throwing at them about the animals. I would visit again.

what a great place to get up,and personal with all kinds of animals, including koala bears. the employees were helpful and attentive. a great way to spend the morning,

On our tour we dropped by to see what we thought was a nice Alpaca stud, would we found was a delightfully managed Animal park showcasing a lot of animals in an obviously well cared for environment and absolute must for families with younger children!

What an amazing experience! We had such a great day at the farm. The Joey kangaroo and koalas were the highlight. The staff here were excellent, a young man named Mark took us in to stroke the koalas without us even asking. The other young lady named Kristen showed us the Joey and told us all about him. There are so many animals here, we got to bottle feed the highland calves and the smaller children got to feed the baby goats. We got so many pictures of me and my girlfriend stroking all the animals. Thanks everyone at the farm for a great time!

What an amazing experience to not only see but touch a baby kangaroo that was tame, sucking it's little finger and following us around while we were visiting the farm. We bought food for the Alpacas, kangaroos and other animals. I could stroke a koala, while sleeping peacefully through the entire experience, chickens were roaming around, saw some Scottish highland calves. The Alpacas, even though tame, spit at me but that was all part of the wonderful working farm experience. Would love that people take their children there for a hands on farm experience.
