The 2.2km hike is a challenge for the less fitter of us. The inclined track reminded me of the time I ascended Mt Kinabalu. The last 65m requires a high degree of nimbleness as the steel handles on the rock face were often in the 'wrong' place. The return trip can be taxing on the thigh muscle, knee, and ankle even though it is mostly downhill.

Sunday on a rainy day in Porongurup we stopped in at Castle Rock Estate. Wendy warmly welcomed us and giving us a run down of all of the wines. The cellar down is small and as a result gives you a great chance to chat with the winemakers. The winery have recently won a James Halliday award. We left a Skywalk Riesling 2013, Della Sparkling (love the label design) and Porongurup Riesling
