There are only a few accessible places in the world where you can be at the point where two oceans meet. Of course, it is not obvious to the naked eye but it is really worth it to see the light house and the view of the oceans.

Visited the Margaret River area to help celebrate my niece's 40th birthday. Visiting the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse was first on the agenda, we had two young children with us and they enjoyed it too. Great guide, great views. Climb up to the top is taxing but well worth the effort. Did the audio tour afterwards and that was worthwhile too.

Self guided or guided tours available. Really good audio for self guided tour, very interesting place to visit! Signs say watch out for snakes & we did see one so definitely take note of the warnings.

I've toured the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse quite a few times. It is an amazing place and the café there is lovely as well. It's also fun to walk around the area closer to the water. I think it's actually more fun on stormy days, but for photos sunny days are usually better. Make sure to call ahead and reserve a place on a lighthouse tour, it's worth it.

I went to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse for an audio tour of the surrounds before being led by a tour guide up the 160+ steps to the very top of the lighthouse. The surrounds are extremely gusty. Great day for a bad hair day, won't really make a difference. The climb to the top provided another cardio session but the views from the top are amazing. In fact, the beautiful blue oceans at ground level are amazing. Though the view from the top is even better. It's also even more gustier so you will cool down in no time. It's also a bit scary looking over the edge, especially with those very strong winds blowing. I think Augusta should just be called gust or more like wind squail. The wind really is intense and it doesn't let up.

A lot of stairs but once you get to the top, the view is well worth the effort. It was a mild sunny day and I didn't want to leave. Honestly, I could have sat up there for hours just soaking in the splendor of the Oceans.

Dear MugsyKel001,Thanks for taking the time to post feedback here on your trip to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. We try to keep our prices as low as possible so that the lighthouse is accessible for a reasonable fee. Unlike a lot of other lighthouses around Australia, we don't operate with government subsidies. We are a non-profit membership-based tourism organisation and we depend on ticket income to maintain the lighthouse and the grounds on which it sits. For example, we are currently restoring the three lighthouse-keeper cottages on the site, so that they are preserved in original condition for future generations. The current entry fee of $8 per adult and $5 per child includes a state of the art mp3 audio guide with commentary and interpretation on the maritime history and workings of the site, including interviews with the original lighthouse-keepers. It also includes access to the historical lighthouse-keeper cottages, the Nizam shipwreck memorial, huge binoculars, and stunning views that were recently rated #3 in National Geographic's Top 10 Ocean Views of the World. Thanks again for your feedback, and safe travels.

Incredible sights to be seen. Good value if you purchase your tickets in a package with one of the caves! My son loved it!! Tour guide was very friendly and knew the area very well

Really enjoyed the views and surrounds of the lighthouse. We have climbed quite a few in our travels so decided to sit this one out. Its takes great effort by the volunteers to maintain this piece of the Wests history so the clean and well kept grounds and lighthouse are a great testament to you. I enjoyed the audio history whilst walking around and would have loved to have seen some of the old equipment and furniture set up in the out buildings, just to add a touch more reality to the stories of the dedication of lighthouse keepers and their families. It all costs though.

Dear Krystie S,Thanks for taking the time to post feedback here on your trip to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Thanks also for your understanding with regards to under 4s not being permitted to climb the lighthouse tower. The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is an active part of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority's network of working lighthouses, so we are bound by their rules as far as tower access goes. We usually recommend people do exactly what you did - one parent stays on the ground with bub while their partner climbs and waves down at them from the top. After half an hour, just swap duties. There is plenty to check out on the grounds, including the excellent audio tour.I'm sorry to hear that your coffee wasn't up to scratch. The six dollar coffee is a large double-shot coffee in a mug, and is usually delicious. I've been in touch with the cafe staff to see if a bit of staff training might be in order. Thanks again for your feedback, and safe travels.

If you are in Margaret River, it's worth taking an hour drive to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. The drive is easy and you are greeted by a magnificent view of the 2 oceans. The lighthouse is where the Southern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean

This place takes your breath away. This is where the 2 oceans meet which in itself is a significant attraction but to tour the lighthouse was amazing. My husband and I are scared of heights but the girls convinced us to go on the tour to the top of the lighthouse. While there were some really challenging & frightening moments for us scaredy cats it was so worth it. The stairs are a little steep and tight so was also worried about the girls (7 & 8 yrs) doing it but they coped well. The view was spectacular! It was very windy when we went but that didn't bother us until we were on the ledge at the top of the lighthouse. A beautiful spot and a must visit place if you are in the lovely Margaret River area.

The audio was a great way to hear and learn about the history of this place! Being in the fresh ocean air as you walk to each numbered destination you can visualise life for the families of the light house!
