Almost by passed this but we were so glad we took the time to check it out. Great to sit on the verandah and let the years roll by. But however did women manage in corsets and heavy clothes in all that heat?!

Hoover House has been renovated and now preserved to a high standard allowing visitors get a flavour of how Herbert Hoover lived. Take tea on the verandah and take yourself back in time.

Stay in the same room that John Forrest or Charles Court stayed in, relax with a beer or wine on the wide verandas, wander around the exhibits and take in the history.

Herbert Hoover commissioned this house when he was the first mine manager at Gwalia. Lovingly restored furniture and memorabilia are well displayed in the sitting room and all of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated in the period style. The grounds and verandahs look out over the mine site ( which is interesting visually) or over the outback with Mount Leonora close by. It is an interesting slice of history and a night or two at this property is well worth the visit if you have time.
