great beyond explorers hall of fame

I was not having a warm fuzzy feeling when we entered the Hall of Fame. The staff were not friendly at all. The only words spoken were, do you have a concession...that will be $20. Shame really as the greeting is very important. Anyway, we went in. First there is a short video to watch then you go into the museum. The video was quite interesting, the museum I thought could have had more exhibits. I was expecting something much larger after reading the travel guide.

Went there in October and had a few items from the cafe. Great people and nice cafe food. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it though.

A great place to visit. Great staff. Wonderful displays. Imaginative videos. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area.. AAA+++ rating

Didn't expect something like this in Laverton, a small outback town in the middle of nowhere, WA. Basically what you get for your entry fee ($10 at the time of my visit - the profits apparently go towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service) is a chance to learn about the exploration of Western Australia during the pioneering days. These were quality bushmen. Aided in no small part by the Indigenous men who worked with them in increasing the knowledge of just what was in the great vastness of Western Australia.There are interactive displays, static displays, lots of information boards and the whole thing is quite well set out.Oh, and in Laverton you won't have trouble finding parking.....Between this and the historical displays at the former police station this attraction is by far the cream of the crop. The art gallery was not open at the time of my visit.

In the small township of Laverton you will be amazed to find a place of such history. The Great Beyond should be your first stop on your travels. It has great coffee (yes - a wonderful flat white in the outback!) and the interactive displays are just perfect to learn all about the history of the area. The displays are top class and the staff are a fountain of knowledge.
