we called in here and were initially the only people to go in; the 2 ladies behind the shop counter gave no greeting, no information and when I wanted to watch the interactive movie about the reef, she came to click the start button and walked off - unfriendly and needs to find another job that does not involve dealing with tourists; the actual displays were excellent, and I purchased several things from the shop, and as other tourists arrived neither of the ladies were in any way friendly or helpful to anyone

Lovely informative visitor centre. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There's a good range of souvenirs for sale and a large section on the sealife in the area.

Lots to learn about the Cape Range national park. Gives a good context for our visit to Yardie Gorge. Liked the eco building too.

This was an amazing visitor centre, in the middle of the Cape Range National Park with a great selection of interactive media describing the area, the tides, the sea life, the dangers etc, some useful retail ( hats, sunscreen, t-shirts etc)They also hire out snorkels and flippers by the day or longer for a nominal cost- very handy if you haven't bought those with you.

Advertises as closes at 3.45 - but visiting at 3.20 - told we had 10 minutes time only as they had to cash up. Given that there were 3 or 4 staff, and no other visitors we found the attitude unhelpful.

Disliked the toilets still being under repair since April flooding (although not the fault of the centre). Staff were very friendly and informative.

This Centre is about 53 kms from Exmouth and is housed in a typical Australian "snub-nosed" (i.e. curving down verandah) building, two buildings in fact, one of which houses the clean and well-maintained toilets (separate for male and female visitors). The Centre itself occupies the larger of the two buildings comprising the complex and is staffed by highly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and user-friendly staff (three the day we visited) who happily explain sights and sites of interest, take and make bookings and recommendations. The merchandise on offer ranges from the usual touristy souvenirs (tea towels, postcards, T-shirts, 'fridge magnets, beer stubby-holders) to soft drinks, water and ice creams. No food, other than sweets, is on offer because they don't have, and can't afford, a commercial kitchen (as required by OH & S legislation). Apart from that side of things a good part of the Centre is taken up with interpretive panels and displays explaining the role, function and importance of the Ningaloo Reef ecosystem, the animal and marine life abounding in it and the ways in which the World Heritage aspects are managed. You can easily spend a good 60 minutes here, in air-conditioned comfort, and not feel that museum-dazed feel. Highly recommended!

Very informative- friendly staff who provided excellent information. Great display of the whale sharks, mantra rays and other life that inhabit the local waters. A must stop visit.

Excellent information on Whale Sharks can be found here. It's worth stopping here on the way down the coast.

Much of the Cape Range Park is closed due to the floods of 27th April.Yardie Creek Rd is open as far as Yardie Creek but I did read an update on 5th May that that road was now closed again after the Tantabiddi boat ramp. There is damage to the road after the boat ramp turn off. Many side tracks to beaches are also closed. Most Park walking tracks are also closed as are many caravan/camping grounds. Lighthouse camping is open.Turquoise Bay is accessible, but the water is fairly cloudy. Snorkelling is still good. The access road to the visitors centre at Milyering is washed out and the centre is closed.

Very informative to prepare you for the cape range national park. You can hire snorkelling gear at a very reasonable price as well.
CEHLanger
Milyering is the only place to go for information in Cape Range National Park. The staff is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable.

We called in here to get a map. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. You can get soft drinks, coffee and snacks also. Some great camping spots near here also
