The Dam was overflowing so a great site. The camp sites are well set up at Honeymoon pool area. Although the number of sites is limited it makes it a quieter place to stay.

Second year in a row we ventured to see the rapids and surrounds, parking was at a premium as previous year so very hard to enjoy after spending half an hour finding a car park. Beautiful area spoilt by inadequate facilities so maybe go midweek not on a Sunday.

Wellington Dam appears to have been undergoing improvements over the last few years. Every time we have passed through some sort of roadwork or upgrade is in process. We decided to head out for a weekend with the camper trailer and see what was available. Sadly we were very disappointed. Honeymoon Pool is a beautiful spot, nicely done up and easily accessible for kids and kayaks. Unfortunately there are only around 20 camp sites, again nicely arranged BUT only for tents. There was one spot that would have been ideal for a camper but with the number of people travelling through there you would be lucky to get it. We were unable to find any other marketed spots that met the target of being able to put the kayaks in the water...until we decided to do a bit of four wheel driving along the gravel tracks off Mungalup and Wight Roads. What a bonus, another world, with plenty of access through the pine forest to the shores of Wellington Dam. Obviously a very common occurrence and popular, with many people camped around the shores. Not a particularly spectacular view considering all the tree stumps between the tree line and the water but a good nights stop and we were able to take the kayaks for a test run - someone forgot to tell him that it is officially 'winter'. I would prefer to have a day out here with kids and kayaks and a bit of a bbq. Close enough to Perth to be a day trip.

I was there for a school camp. Stepped in for a much needed coffee. Bought a coffee and 1 scone which came to $10. A friend of mine bought 2 pies. They were small, cold, mostly pastry and cost him $16. Grossly overpriced, don't go there.

A long drive from Perth but was a beautiful drive and lots of nice scenery. Some gravel roads to drive on and really feels you are driving to a secluded little swimming hole/campsite only to find hundreds of people there and no where to park then waiting behind a line of cars to get out of there because no one can find anywhere to park. And there is not much else nearby as a back-up and the one way road means you have to do a 15 minute road trip to get back to the rapids and other potential swimming areas. Overall, it is a beautiful area but no BBQs and not worth it only to have to turn around and drive back because its too busy.

Nice national park. Wellington Dam was not overflowing when we got there but a pleasant trip nevertheless. Would have done more if it wasn't raining.

I haven't camped at honeymoon pool but visited it on a hot day in February this year for the first time. I was warned that the water was cold! It was! What beautiful surroundings though and have not seen anywhere quite so picturesque. Lovely place to spend the day, swim, picnic, you name it.

the views are amazing, though the water can get pretty icy it's a great place to camp and go 4X4 driving, you do need to get in early if you want a spot, it is always packed, as it is a popular place for everyone

We love this campsite. Just enough amenities to make life easy, but plenty of secluded spots to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Forest is so lush that it's always cooler than the rest of the countryside, so its the perfect summer getaway. We even had a 9C night while the rest of the country was sweltering in heatwaves. Bring your kayaks and floating stuff for lots of fun on the cold running river, or pack the car/bikes to explore lots spots in the surrounding areahttp://www.dec.wa.gov.au/campgrounds/index.php?option=com_jomres&Itemid=2&task=viewproperty&property_uid=87
